PC Pokémon 9 hybridization glitch

PC Pokémon 9 hybridization glitch is a glitch in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, and a glitch technique of the international 'dokokashira door glitch'.

It causes the first byte for PC Pokémon 9's species to decrease by 1 every 4 steps, thus hybridizing the Pokémon similar to the Pokémon merge glitch.

International 'dokokashira door glitch'

Main article: Coin Case glitch

The international 'dokokashira door glitch' (and Japanese dokokashira door glitch) occurs when the only FF terminator in the player's party double-serves as the first Pokémon in the party, or if there is no existing FF terminator in the party at all.

This causes the game to decrease HP of poisoned "Pokémon" beyond slot 6 after walking. This stat may actually represent an unrelated memory address (taken from extrapolation), which is the cause of corruptions.

See the main article for details on how to set up the glitch.

Mew 'international dokokashira door glitch' sub-glitch

Gyarados' ID is $16. Mew's is $15; so walking 4 steps with Gyarados as box Pokémon 9 after triggering the 'international dokokashira door glitch' can allow you to get a Mew/Gyarados hybrid.

Expanded experience underflow glitch (with Pokémon other than medium-slow growth rate Pokémon)

Pointed out by Krys3000 in this thread and adjusted for box Pokémon rather than party Pokémon.

If a level 0 Victreebel appears in box slot 9; and international 'dokokashira door glitch' is active, then one can perform the experience underflow glitch with regardless of what hybrid the Pokémon becomes.

This is because the Pokémon byte 2 controls the growth curve calculations; and this byte is untouched. We change byte 1, however, this changes the experience cap and not any calculations. Due to a lock-up when withdrawing a level 1 medium-slow Pokémon, one cannot be used, otherwise that would work.
