The Sand Ornament collapse glitch refers to the ability to place a poster behind a Sand Ornament in the Japanese versions of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, despite the ability to do this being unintentional. It is not possible in any other version of the games, or in any version of Emerald.

Procedure

1. Place a Sand Ornament in front of a wall.

2. Crumble it by pressing A in front of it.

3. A poster can now be placed behind the Sand Ornament before leaving the room.

Curiosities

After exiting and re-entering the Secret Base, the top half of the Sand Ornament will be covered by the tile containing the wall behind it and the poster placed on top of that. When the player crumbles the Sand Ornament again, the part of the poster that was placed behind it will disappear, in addition to the wall tile. It is unknown if this can be used to go out of bounds.
