If an enemy Pokémon uses Transform, and then the user transforms into the Pokémon which used Transform, and then the opponent uses Transform again, the opponent may become a Ditto with the same DVs as the user after it is caught.
Since shininess in Generations I and II is determined by DVs, this exploit is useful for obtaining a shiny Ditto. The player may perform the glitch with a Pokémon that is already shiny (such as the red Gyarados) after it is taught Mimic so that it may temporarily learn Transform.
