The mystery Egg glitch is a glitch in Pokémon X and Y, where an Egg said to have been obtained from Mystery Zone on '0/0/2000' appears in the Pokémon Storage System.

Other people have referred to mystery Eggs as Bad Eggs. Like Bad Eggs, they seemingly never hatch, however, mystery Eggs are not referred to as Bad Eggs by the game.

Theory

The properties of a mystery Egg may be 'zeroed out' Egg data. Mystery Zone is place origin #0, according to here, and January 0, 2000 is seen for undefined date information in Generation IV, so 0/0/2000 may be the Generation VI equivalent.

Explanation

The Mystery Egg is actually the Pokemon occupying hex: 0x000, and is therefore the "000" Glitch Pokemon of Generation VI.
