I say no more.
Btw, this has a lot of garbage that i couldn't be bothered to delete in it aswell.
It starts from the first bit of valid text though.

I've been looking forward for this, and it looks like its going to be very useful for us, thanks for taking the time to compile it. I'll make a start at looking for possible unused content within the game text now.

I just had a quick look through your text dump and this reminded me of a few sample test messages for Pokémon AGB (the tentative name while the game was in development). They were mentioned before on the "Unseen64" website, but I never had time to mention them on the wiki.

This is sample message 1.

These are also a few error traps worth noting, which haven't been mentioned on the wiki yet. According to the in game text, it will mention the words "Transmission error" after mixing records but failing (and perhaps additionally attempting to mix records with another language game "You may not mix records in different languages."

The game will display "Loading error.", presumably when loading an 'event' via link cable and failing.

Does anybody know when those strings of dialogue appear? I was thinking perhaps they are used when distributing a gift from Pokémon Colosseum or maybe the Berry glitch fix, but given the definition of a 'Pokémon event' has been narrowed down by players, maybe are these dialog strings used when attempting to distribute a ticket, or an actual event Pokémon itself?

We're making preparations.

Ready for a test battle

Is this used anywhere? Perhaps they may have once considered allowing the player to battle Norman earlier on.

BARD testing!

The BARD; unless I'm mistaken, wasn't he only added later in Pokémon Emerald? Does he exist internally in the game, if he does I guess that one could only speak to him via a game-altering device because normally only the Story-Teller would appear on the original Ruby/Sapphire. That is unless you can mix records on Emerald to make him appear?

Regarding the actual quote "BARD testing!"; that is really quite interesting, that also reminds me in one of xparasite9's old videos part of a Decamark variation's cry denoted a robotic feminine voice.

Notice how the two ?*8s are after HM08, maybe Nintendo were once considering 10 HMs, or simply did not know how many HMs would have been developed in the final game, so used 10 'HM items' as a nice round figure?

Thats interesting, because you couldn't set a function for R via the Options interface could you? So R could have been used as a placeholder, or a function to test a certain element of the button configuration system?

Not much to say for me here because I can't read Romaji, the W# notation is interesting though.
TRACK-MOVE
TRACK-STOP
TRACK-HAIK
TRACK-DOOR
- ways of tracking the player's map location, maybe for when connected to another player via link cable?

POKE-DEAD
- *lol*, not even the game developers themselves can't help but say that a Pokémon has 'died' after it faints? Otherwise, some kind of interface for 'literal ghost' Pokémon like in FR/LG?

There is also some beta Daycare text that I happened to find while scrolling through the pages.

By the way, about your @

,

it seemed to be friendly with=@

's @

.

I may even have seen it receiving

a piece of MAIL.

If you leave me that POKéMON,

what will you battle with?

Come back another time.

The top quote suggests that at one point Pokemon may have been able to find mail in the Daycare, and the bottom is an unused handler for attempting to deposit your only Pokemon into the Daycare. I've been thinking about an Latin Ruby/Sapphire hack, so while translating I may come across more interesting things.

Most of those are Japanese or pet names for music (e.g. Mishiro = Littleroot, Daigo = Steven, SITTENOU - likely a corruption of Shittenou, Elite Four, BOY-SUP may be one of those intro songs but I could also be misinterpreting it), so you are likely correct. Rune City is Sootopolis City; Ash Road is likely Route 113 (ashen route from Route 111, the desert, to Fallarbor Town). I don't know what HIGHTOWN is, but it is likely another town.

MAY: Oh, hey?

@HERO@

, are you shopping, too?

I bought a whole bunch of DOLLS and

POSTERS.

Of course, I've also caught a lot of

POKéMON, and I'm raising them=properly, too.

Actually, I'm more worried if you're

raising POKéMON properly, @HERO@

.

I'll battle with you, so you can show

me your POKéMON, @HERO@

.

MAY: Oh, why? @HERO@

, haven't you

been raising your POKéMON?

That's not a very good showing as a

TRAINER…

MAY: Come on, battle with me, so I can

check out your POKéMON!

MAY: The POKéMON I raised won't be

beaten by your POKéMON, @HERO@

!

… … … … … … … …

I remember the battle I had with you,

@HERO@

, on ROUTE 103.

That battle helped you become this

strong, @HERO@

, didn't it?

MAY: I'm thinking of going back to

LITTLEROOT soon.

I've caught a decent group of POKéMON,

and my POKéDEX is coming along, so=I'm going home to show my dad.

@HERO@

, what are you going to do?

Collect all the GYM BADGES and take

the POKéMON LEAGUE challenge?

Well, while you're collecting BADGES,

@HERO@

, I'm going to work on my=POKéDEX. I'll complete it before you!

See you!

@HERO@

, what are you going to do?

Are you taking the POKéMON LEAGUE

challenge?

Or, are you going to complete your

POKéDEX?

I might've lost to you in battling,

but I'll finish my POKéDEX before you!

See you!

@HERO@

, what are you going to do?

Are you taking the BATTLE TOWER

challenge?

Or, are you going to complete your

POKéDEX?

I might've lost to you in battling,

but I'll finish my POKéDEX before you!

See you!

BRENDAN: Oh, hey, it's @HERO.

I'm running an errand for my dad.

No, I'm not buying any DOLLS.

Anyways, it's been a while.

Want to have a battle to see who's been

raising POKéMON better?

BRENDAN: Oh, what's the matter?

Don't have the confidence?

BRENDAN: Want to battle to see who's

been raising POKéMON better?

BRENDAN: Aww, but you know I'm not

going to lose to no @HERO.

Humph…

You've done a lot of raising.

That stings a bit - I had a head start

on you as a TRAINER…

BRENDAN: I…

I plan on going home to LITTLEROOT.

You know I'm helping out my dad on his

POKéDEX. It's coming together pretty=decently, so I should go show him.

@HERO, what are you going to do?

Collect all the GYM BADGES and take

the POKéMON LEAGUE challenge?

Maybe I'll do that, too…

Well, anyway, hang in there!

@HERO, what are you going to do?

Since you're that strong, are you

taking the POKéMON LEAGUE challenge?

Heh, even me - if I trained my POKéMON

a bit more, I should be stronger than=you, @HERO.

Well, anyway, hang in there!

@HERO, what are you going to do?

Since you're that strong, are you

taking the BATTLE TOWER challenge?

Heh, even me - if I trained my POKéMON

a bit more, I should be stronger than=you, @HERO.=Maybe I will go to the BATTLE TOWER.

Well, anyway, hang in there!

I found this in the Fortree City section. I don't think that you ever meet your rival in the doll shop; please correct me if I am wrong.

Your rival stands in front of the Lilycove Department Store and you can talk to him/her to initiate a battle and some of that dialogue if you win.

There are no references to the Time Capsule in Generation III.

Strangely enough, this was recently added today on to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire's article on trcf.net ("The Cutting Room Floor" wiki).

"To do: Chris Fritz said a long time ago that there's Time Capsule text in these games. I need to dump the script and look for that! These games being totally unfinished, there's a good chance I'll find more, too…"-

trcf is a wiki focussing on the unused elements of various games. I started making a few contributions to it from June 2010 (and today in fact).

"Chris Fritz" is "Meowth346" who used to run "Pokémon Forever", a website dating back to as early as January 1st 1999 focussing on the inner workings of some of the older games, like Red and Blue, Gold and Silver which has now expired.

That's certainly interesting, and quite the coincidence regarding TCRF.

its also good to see that i wasn't wrong in being suspicious of that line, too.
