They don't respect that it can't be Thunder Waved, which cost Peterko (from Smogon) his 2363 Tower streak?

DAMN!

It's the anime, the place where Arboks evolve into Seviper, Rhydon can be killed by attacking THE HORN, and Onyx when wet is seceptible to electric attacks.  (Let's not forget that Growlithes are Arcanines, too and every can open their eyes without goggles in sea water without burning like hell.)

This is in no way a mistake, and the creators shouldn't be slapped for it.

Also, what about the beginning of the first movie (iirc) when pikachu not only OHKO'd three pokemon at once with thunder(bolt/shock), one of the three was a GOLEM.

IIRC in Pokemon Special Red's Pikachu is explained to have special powers that let it hit ground types or something, but this is just one of many examples of the anime being completely backwards. Remember Ash's supercharged Swellow in his battle against Tate and Liza? They seem to be rather fond of making up moves as plot devices. I suppose that it moves the story along, but it's still unrealistic.

Which was kind of awesome, considering he hit the ground harder than usual.

Honestly, we all know by now that electric moves are different in the anime, being super effective against rock and ground. It's how Pikachu is given win power  :P.
