Huh, I was expecting a dragon or steel-type Eveelution.

This is a nice surprise.

I'm placing my money on either Fighting or Flying, myself.

is it just me or does Ninfia not look very "bug-like"

I guess it's subjective anyway…

Not just you, I don't see anything resembling a reason why it could possibly be Bug myself.

Also, new video from the official channel:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pse_I1klRhA
So I guess its name is Sylveon now.

Moves shown here appear to be Hyper Beam, Trump Card, some crap, and Swift. Guess they're deliberately showing stuff common to all Eeveelutions to avoid giving any clues as to its type.

Sylveon:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylph

>Greek mythology root but still closely related to Nymphs

Type is now either flying or still bug.

I'm still hoping for Dragon because of the resemblance to Mitotic but I doubt it. :| I'm going with Flying.

I hope it's a Dragon-type. It's been a theory of mine for a long time, and I'm not sure if I could justify a non-Special (fire, water, electric, dark, psychic, grass, ice, dragon) typed Eeveevolution in canon; it just seems too much of a slippery slope of some sort.

There isn't really such thing as physical or special types anymore. Also I can envision a Dragon-type Eeveelution being more "unique" and/or "legendary" (okay just trying to avoid using the adjective special here) than the rest, like it would only appear if you fused together 15 of the other types or something.
