DOES NOT WORK IN YELLOW
Requirements: Must not have surf
Step 1: Defeat every trainer up to Fuchisa
Step 2: Release any Meowth/Persian
Step 3: Become too poor to buy pokeballs
Step 4: Pick up all game corner coins and waste them all
Congratulations! You have now bricked your save file, no surf=no cinnibar
Method #2: Saffron city $100
Same thing as above
You are now too broke to buy water for the guard!
Method #3: Stranded on an island that gets blown up when generation 2 comes around:
MUST NOT HAVE ANY RODS
Step 1: Go to cinnibar
Step 2: Release surf user
Step 3: Release fossil Pokemon
Step 4: Release fly user
Step 5: Release any pokemon that can learn surf/fly
Step 6: Heal at cinnibar tra-I MEAN POKEMON CENTER
You now can't get off cinnibar. Enjoy starving to death or getting killed by a volcano
Method 4: Lorelei:
Step 1: Make the ONLY Pokemon in your party a Primape/Poliwrath/Ivysaur at ~Level 30
Step 2: Teach that Pokemon rage
Step 3: Deplete the PP of all moves except for rage
Step 4: Toss all PP restoring items
Step 5: Save
Step 6: Fight Lorelei
You now can't knock Dewgong out (It'll spam rest because Psychic >Fighting/Poison and you aren't strong enough to knock it out with three crits) and it can't knock you out (Rest won't damage you) so you have to 1/256 miss 20 times back to back. Good luck with that
ESCAPES:
Escape for #1:
Trade a Meowth from a different game or trade surf via stadium 2
Escape for #2:
Trade a Meowth from a different game or trade a drink via stadium 2
Escape for #3:
Trade a surf user, fly user, or a prize pokemon from stadium 2
Escape for #4:
1/256 miss rage 20 times back to back
