I know that you probably (most likely not) have not figured this code out… i just would like to ask someone who is possibly more (once again most likely…) smarter than i.' "

Well, I know that Q-glitching your Pikachu with another Pok?mon to make an unstable hybrid gives the other Pok?mon your Pikachu's cry. (I did this, and I have a Marowak that says, "Pika!") I think that your Pikachu is either triggered by any Pikachu with your ID No., or that it's triggered by some piece of data besides the species byte.

Ok, so what's the wild pok?mon modifier code? (Gameshark)

01**D7CF

and iirc, the hex for your Pikachu is the same hex as for any other Pikachu.

Also on the yellow
version, setting it [extra species byte] to Pikachu (quantifier digits: 54) will cause your pok?mon
to make all the cute Pikachu sounds.

the set types code is interesting… 06 is missing from the list, along with 09, 0A-0F, and 10-13.

In Pokemon RBY, there is a second specie byte for the Pokemon's cry, so in Pokemon Yellow, there is a hex for the pika sounds, like it says in the Gameshark code guide.

The code, though, is the same code for a normal pikachu. It's just that, in Yellow, pikachu makes the cute noises.

But if you trade a Pikachu from another game onto Yellow, it makes the normal Pikachu cry. I believe the trigger is having a Pikachu with your ID No.

Could be. I suppose I could do an experiment or something.

0154D7CF does make Pikachu appear. I don't have Pikachu with me at the moment, so there's not one following me. It appears - there's a glitchy block, and it makes the regular Pikachu sound. I throw a Master Ball (I need these for Melchior) at it, it asks me to name it, etc etc, and when I exit out of battle, I have Pikachu following me. On the stats page it goes "Pikachu" (not audible through the emulator, but it's there).

So the game doesn't check for "The" Pikachu, I think it just checks for one with your ID no. like ACE said.

Yeah, you might be right, although I remember trading a Yellow Pikachu to another Pokemon Yellow (they weren't ROMs), and when one fainted, I think there was still one following me. I might be remembering wrong, it was a while ago. I'll test this again with TGB_Duel.

First I trade between two Yellow saves, then look at both Pikachu. The second Pikachu has a Gameboy Pikachu sound! I go to the PC and put in the first Pikachu. The second Pikachu is not following me.

Yeah, it seems that it depends on your ID number to turn Pikachu into Ash's Pikachu. I wonder what happens when you have two Ash's Pikachu in the same party. I'll catch another Pikachu… I had forgotten to switch Missingno. to Pikachu in my party and went into a battle with a Missingno. that looked like Pikachu, oddly. I ran out of the battle and switched Pikachu. I throw a Master Ball, then talk to Pikachu. Its picture is messed up! I don't think this happens because of the effects of Missingno. I send a Ash's Pikachu into the PC, and Pikachu is still behind me, of course. And I talk to Pikachu again and it is frowning! With the other Pikachu, it was really happy. This must mean there is a byte for your Pikachu's happiness in each Pokemon!

Actually, I think there is only one byte for Pikachu's happiness. Remember, of course, that depositing your Pikachu in the PC decreases its happiness. So, therefore, depositing either of the two Pikachus should decrease the happiness level. Also, Pikachu's picture being messed up is a result of the same glitchy effects that MissingNo. and other Glitch Pok?mon cause. It happened to me after viewing the stats of a 4 4 on Yellow Version.

Hey another question, how is that ghost defined?

I've also figured out why pikachu goes pika when you find it, a certain battle mode is used for prof.oak
which makes pokemon go pika and replaces you with prof.oak.
