The trading glitch and the ditto trick.

I understand why MissingNo. appears from the Old Man trick, but what about the trading glitch (Trading with any In-Game trainer and then surfing the coast of Cinnabar) that brings up MissingNo.? Why does that one make MissingNo. appear, and at LV 80 no matter what? I've never understood how that one works.

On a side note, I found that 'M and 3trainerpoke are catchable through the Ditto Trick. When a special stat reaches 256, the hex resets back to 0. The idea itself bugged me for quite a while, so I tried it out to see if it worked, and it did.

On a much smaller side note, I also started thinking about MissingNo. and 'M's sprite. I had a theory that the L shaped pixel block was designated to slot 0, and the slot fillers, MissingNo., just adopted the "no Pokemon" sprite and stats of slot 0 to avoid crashing. The MissingNo. slots that have actual sprites occupying them are the only ones with altered stats (being partially defined in terms of usefullness but unique stat coding that just mimics other pokemon), so thats why I thought the "worthless" MissingNo. slots just used the undefined "slot 0" stats and sprite.
