Enem - Endless named Glitch Pokémon In the Spanish Pokémon RED Version

So, im currently using "wild pokémon encounter code" with VisualBoyAdvance on a Pokémon Azúl ( Spanish Blue ) .rom to find every sprite for the Gen1 glitch Pokémon's Spanish counterparts. And everything is going like normal until i get to the glitch pokémon with a hexadecimal of F0, I placed a Attachment in this topic under this very post, where i basically explains in more detail of what i mean. Take a look and tell me this after you've looked at the attachment:

Has this been documented before?
Is there a way of seeing the sprite of this glitch Pokémon?
Is there a end to it's insanely long name?

Plz leave a comment of what you guys think, and for you guys who is good at modifying and analyzing the code of gen1 games, plz try to see if the name really is endless.

=)

I got a sprite. I don't know if it's name is endless, but it seems like it for being sent out on the opponent's side. You can exit the summary screen for it.

(note the sprite below may be the flipped version)

There are two ways to do this:

1) Modify your first Pokémon by changing D169, D170 to F0, then encounter a Ditto. Have Ditto transform into your Pokémon, then view the stats of your Pokémon and exit.
2) Enter the code 01F096CF then view a 'fossil' Pokémon in the Pewter Museum. It will have the wrong palette, though.
3) Enter a link battle and battle a nicknamed Enem. TGB Dual screenshot:

Edit: Actually, it seems to have 'more than one' sprite, yet the shape is the same.

I saw another one, too.

I got it. I don't know if it's name is endless, though.

Oh. Wait, did you try doing the encountercode and didn't see any endless name? or did you see it but couldn't find a answer for it?

Sooo, I guess the sprite would look something like this then?: (attachment yo)

Ah, that's cool, But maaaaan, TGB Dual is a pain in the ass to use. Someone has to make a Usb Link cable to gameboy support on emulators D:

Yeah, I saw the seemingly endless name but didn't immediately know what to do. After actually looking, the name is stored at CFDF, so all you have to do is place a 50 there. I'll analyse the name now.

This is a 'real' sprite.

By the way, well done on trying to apply the color palette, that was quick!

On the status screen and trade screen the game didn't have the 'infinite' arrows.

Ah. I think TGB Dual isn't so bad, but the sound quality isn't good and I don't like how it doesn't support Super Game Boy colors. :/

Edit: I found the answer!  :D Enem. only has an infinitely long name if you didn't do a battle with a user Pokémon that isn't called it before it. Basically 'Enem.' (hex:59) is a control character that prints 'Enem. (POKéMON)'. If you enter a wild Pokémon and run, the string that follows it should be the player's Pokémon (not the opponent Pokémon's for some reason) name, but if you didn't, then it's going to be this glitch Pokémon's name, causing an infinite loop of 'Enem Enem Enem…'. Ignoring this, Enem's name is in fact properly terminated, and what follows it is 'úÍ'

Man, this glitch pokémon has like a billion sprites. It's quite weird, definitely a NOTABLE glitch pokémon.

haha! Yeah, Im a Sprite artist, that's what i do best i guess, but you really had to look hard to see that this pallete that is used right here uses two reds that is almost identical. =)

The reason for the endless name is because if it's sent out by an opponent, it's name turns into UEnem. [Name of enemy](…), which the name of the enemy is UEnem. (Name of enemy)(…) and it keeps going, this UEnem UEnem UEnem UEnem UEnem UEnem UEnem UEnem UEnem…

Yeah, I posted that before in an edit three posts up. It's because 'Enemy (Pokémon)' or just '(Pokémon)' is a hex:59 control character that appears in the name.

If you enter a wild battle and run before battling, then what's printed will just be (name of user)úÍ

Video.

Not that this has anything to do with Hex:F0, but one more interesting thing i found out while looking through the Roja/Azúl bunch of glitchymons is that the Spanish counterpart of "hPOKé" (hex:C3) is called "h<your rivals name>". That's like the coolest name of any glitchpokémon. =)

Ha ha, awesome. :D I guess if you trade it to another game with a different rival name its name will change, like how the OT 'TRAINER' is translated between versions.
