Wierd Effect when using Special Stat 193 on Pokemon Red (Trainer Escape Glitch)

Hello. When I was doing the long range trainer glitch with a special stat of 193 I got a interesting effect with it. I was watching MissingnoXpert's Let's Glitch Pokemon Blue series, When he did a special stat of 193 he got an unknown op code error. When I did it on red I got a glitch trade screen. I don't know why this happens, especially when on the big list here says that in red/blue 193 is the jp symbol glitch. I've researched this on bulbapedia and according to their list you get a (C1) which is understandable with the JP symbol glitch. But as I said I got a glitch trade screen.

Why does this happen?

Here are 2 videos I did on the glitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27hDzTCk9EI and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReOXcaiHK5A

FYI: Sorry for the big images.

is a very useful little tag! that i admittedly had no idea existed until recently haha

I dunno whether or not you actually meant to lock this, though, so I'm not going to mess with that.

Thanks for the tag, I'll be sure to change the image size soon but for some reason downsizes on ipad :/

Does anyone know why this happens?

I'm not sure, sorry.

I also saw a glitch trade screen during my 'turn 8F and wsm into a sound test' video, when I tried to have the game play sound 0 from bank 0 (link to where it happened).

I guess it's possible that (C1)'s invalid sprite corrupted C0EF and C0F0 to 0. However, it's apparent that the glitches that happen when (C1) appears are not constant, I quickly tried it and got a white screen and 00 39 memory corruption pattern.

I unfortunately don't know how to control whether (C1) freezes the game or not.

I was going to say if this is volatile but the glitch trade screen happens all the time.

Interesting. Then that would mean something that isn't necessarily unpredictable is causing it to happen and there's small potential for a set of steps that would make it always work. I was thinking that you could probably have normal Yellow Missingno. never freeze the game (without hacking) if more research was done in the same way.

The corruption depends on when you fly/teleport away from the long range trainer, so if you use a save state just before the encounter, the effects will stay the same.

At what address? And what did you do to get away from the long range trainer?
