Seeing as there are virtually no videos of this I could find on YouTube, I made a video about the Japanese Gen1 Glitch Hell out of bounds glitch.

From the Video Description:

In the 1.0 Revisions of Pocket Monsters Green and Yellow (I couldn't get this working in Red) Going out of bounds produces different effects from the localized variants and future v1.1 revisions. Rather than writing large portions of Memory with 0039, different effects occur.

Pocket Monsters Yellow produces a different effect to Green however the glitch will only partially work when on Super Gameboy mode, freezing after a certain point. On gameboy colour mode the game will continue to a glitched cycling road sequence and then the player will fly to a glitched route 10 and freeze

Wow.

The effects on the English version seem to be much more boring… shame really.

Japanese Yellow (v1.0) has the most interesting effect
