Does anyone know what caused this?

I started playing Yellow (US version) yesterday. I chose the name 'Ash' for me and 'Blue' for my rival. I saved in front of that grass from Pallet Town, before getting Pikachu, since I had something else to do. Today when I loaded the game, my name was 'A'vH'. I got the Pikachu and had that battle against Blue's Eevee normally, no infinite looping cries nor level 255 wild 3TrainerPoké$. Everything is normal except for my Trainer name. I never read about something like this happening, honestly. Does someone here know why did this happen? I'm sure my name was the preset 'ASH'. I chose it from the preset names list that pops out when Oak asks for your name. I even have a savestate (I'm on emulator) I don't know why I made where my trainer name was Ash.

Here's a screenshot of the savestate:

And here's one for the battery save with the effed up name:

GBCoid has some problems. Yes, it's an Android emulator… but it's pretty bad. Retroarch or nothing for reliability on Android my friend!
EDIT: If I remember right its DMA and some op code emulation is really, really s**t. So… either wait for an update or switch emulators.

I never thought the emulator could be the problem. I've beaten both Red and Silver on it and never experienced any problem. The only problematic emulator for me so far has been MyOldBoy, which crashes at the smallest attempt at experimenting with glitches and GS codes but I still keep because as far as I know it's the only Android GB(C) emulator where trade is possible. I'll give a try to other emulators just to be sure, but I'm starting to think it's a problem with the battery save. Mainly because I tried to load the same save file on MyOldBoy and VBA (on my computer) and both keep showing 'A'vH' instead of Ash. Also, when I used MyOldBoy, I battled a Rattata that almost killed Pikachu, so I went to a Pokémon Center, healed it and when I got out Pikachu was a weird square. Entering the Pokémon Center fixed it, though. I don't think GBCoid, be it bad or good, can screw up battery saves.

I might try the thing, but I don't see how switching emulators can fix a problem with the .sav file. The savestate is alright. It's the save file that shows A'vH instead of Ash. I maybe corrupted the save or something. I saved the game and closed the emulator instantly. I don't know where I closed it exactly but I think it was on the Saving… screen. Maybe I closed the thing at the wrong time and something in the name got corrupted. Still doesn't explain the glitchy Pikachu though.

Try checking your ROM's 'sums. (Got ES File Explorer? You do? Good… Select file > Properties > Generate sums.)

Switch emulators, dump the save from the SD, go to address D158 in the VBA memeory viewer, and change it to 92, then save, and here you go, fixed.
