010004do seems to glitch the sprite and make the battle a link battle
like what ?????? does sometimes I was thinking what would happen if you used this code on a ??????

That's very strangeā€¦ it does pretty much the same thing as 0100EDD0, although the game will still consider the name of the Pokemon to be the original monster (i.e. Hoothoot). It could go farther than that, and consider most of the Pokemon as the originalā€¦ but I can't verify that since you can't catch the bugger without the game crashing.

If I had to guess, I'd say that this new code alters the extra species byte.
