Exploring the many glitches of ??????????

Ok, so this post is for exploring the glitch ?????????? in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. (Emerald, LG, and FR - Crashes Game, Sometimes Sapphire.)

Ok. Here are the items being Discussed here:

The Movesets

Base Stats

Dex Number

and Hybrids.

We know that ? is the Hybrid of Chimchar. 390 = Chimchar in the Dex.

But, there are many more types of ?????????.

I have explored them for many years, and found many results, and you can post things about them here. this is the researching a glitch that not all variants have been discovered yet. So far, these are the variants i have discovered:

1. No cry
2. Makes sound of in battle when it shows how many pokemon of the opponent are left
3. Bulbasaur
4. Flareon
5. Glitch Cries
6. Ivysaur

Please contribute to this research. When it's done, i will send it in to Abaywax.

Several things..
~ Dex number goes up with hex, starting with 001 for 1C9 then after getting upto 389, starts again I think, but I know little about them
~ There are about 65,121 of them. that is why i gave up.
~ Use the code 0000B138000A 1003A82A0007 83007D22xxxx for easy usage
~ Try this out, I edited it to extend the base stat coverage: PAhack
~ I though ? was unown. It has it's stats.

Good luck. I will try and do it too.

thanks newo, so far we know that one thing is linked through a lot of these

Most of these share "Thunder Punch" As a move, and some know swallow

Their levels are not random. They are fixed to the hex.

A lot have cries of other pokemon, i've discovered one with a wierd cry that sounds like a Cow dieing (wierd glitch cry)

many are left to be discovered.

some have strange effects, like the one i once owned that had Kyogre's Drizzle!!

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? have glitched dex entries that lock your game up sometimes. It depends on which one it is.

65,121?! Wow, that's a lot of them. Why would Nintendo insert the empty hex at a high number?
This means that this game has as much glitch pokemon as R/B/Y

I've also discovered that one tried to learn a move that was wierd and glitched, but i couldn't teach it that move because it had to many moves already.

Please submit more information to me.

I have no real comment as I'm not big on the third generation glitches (that's what I have Newo for), but I'm going to nitpick on something:

RSE:390 is technically not a "chimchar hybrid". Hybrid refers to a glitch Pokemon that has the same stats as an ordinary one, not necessarily just number, so technically it can't be a Chimchar hybrid because there is no Chimchar in generation 3. It's just RSE:390.

One time, though, I rememeber seeing an ?x10 variant that had an id number of 26. Raichu hybrid, perhaps? I need to look more into this stuff.

Hex is usually double digits. They have more than 255 pokemon, so instead of having FF they had to have FFFF as the max.

And a point I forgot to mention, the first couple… well few. I know hex 300 still has this theme, have moves as their names.

(this may not be correct, I am a bit rusty)
19D is Pound
19F is Chop (That is why he is Pokedex 004 19C is 001, 19D is 002 etc)
Etc

If you don't give them a nickname it usually reverts to ??????????, but even if you do, it says the name I use underneath
And Glitch types that look like JAM are dangerous and will freeze your game. (see chop's second type) There are a few others, but most are safe.
And Some are at set levels, some are not. In the examples below, ROCKTHROW isn't.
And finally, most variants have one set type.

I'll add a few random Pictures that have movenames:

Hmm… interesting screen shots. But, what about glitch moves?

I've seen some.

Their types seem to be screwed up. I think the ?????????? variant type i saw with drizzle was parallel to Rock Throw (lol).

Movesets then must be different for each different type of these.

Some unexplained:

Movesets.
Glitch Moves.
Levels.
Cry.
And More…

(continued)… And one more thing:

0000B138000A
1003A82A0007
83007D22****

Is this code Action Replay or GameShark?

I just noticed that JAM is MAL(as in NORMAL) reversed.
And,they didn't need FFFF,they should have used FFF.

Hmm.. thanks Newo.

They should add Rock Slide 1 and 2 and Chop to the R/S/LG/FR/E Glitches.

One Question: What happens when you migrate these to D/P??  :o

They will either not go across, turn into 000 or turn into another pokemon.

Some count as actual pokemon Rockslide counts as a Kingdra, and Chop is Torchic
They may turn into them… with very strange moves.
