Emerald Glitch Question

How come the glitch pokemon in emerald version have such programed looking movements? For instance, wild decamark will roll from left to right upon the beginning of an encounter. and ? will look as if it is inflating and then deflating. Does anyone know why this is? Is it a default movement? :???:

Default movements, yeah. Think about Decamark's Unown cry. Has to have something, and with nothing it just somehow defaults to something else.

The pokemon have to have animations or they will crash the game.  Game Freak couldn't delete the place holders or glitches without more glitchier glitches taking their place, so they just gave them animations.  They do not have animations at a point somewhere before 1000 and crash the game from there on.

Do you have any videos of them performing their animations? That would be cool.

The decamark and unimark sprites, unlike the R/B/Y/G/S/C glitch sprites, were intentionally programmed in there. They were given animations probably just because the designers felt like it.

They put in glitch pokemon because they could, or did you mean they're place holders?

They are placeholders. Or, at least, the sprite is a placeholder for a non-existant sprite.

MissingNO. is definately a glitch in R/B/Y/G/S/C, and even in D/P.

However, it seems more like a placeholder in Ru/Sa/Em. It had an actual sprite, unlike the MissingNO. of other games(not counting the Skeletal/Ghost MissingNO.), and it even had it's own PokeDEX entry, which not even the Skeletal/Ghosst MissingNO. did. Judging from it's entry, I'd say it was going to have a similar role to the Enigma Berry.

Well Decamark's PkDex entry says about some PkMn being unknown, it is the thing for empty spaces in the PkDex. Perhaps you might have been able to view those? Unimark (good name! ;D) is just really the beta version of that.
