Evolution without trade?

Is it possible to evolve a pokemon without trading it?

Perhaps similar to the glitch in which you use certain pokemon as stones.

I don't think so, but there are glitches that allow you to catch Pokemon that evolve by trades.

Actually, you can in D/P (maybe platinum) by putting it in the trade thingy and waiting a while then taking it out.

It's easy in D/P/P.

Offer it up in the GTS, wait, take it back out, and voila!
