Animal Crossing/3DS

1. Is it worth getting the 3DS (I currently have a DSi which I really dislike, and a DS lite that I love) to get the new Animal Crossing game/other games? I just hope the 3DS doesn't give me a headache or anything.
2. I'm debating if I should start a new town in my Animal Crossing (DS) game. I've had it since 05/06 but now I'm just getting bored with it. But I don't want to lose my character and I'm just attached to it.  But I did AR my game to get a TON of bells and it's not fun anymore. Any suggestions?

1. The 3DS is great, I'm just a bit miffed that it's not backwards-compatible with the GB* then again, I don't own any GB* games presently :P
2. Start a new game, a strictly legit one.

Knock yourself out with backwards compatibility and flash carting.

I started a new game, and yes it's legit this time. I love it!
I'll probably end up upgrading to the new 3DS, it's just so cool! I only play Emerald and I still have my SP, so I'm good.

The 3DS is well worth it, even though I haven't found very many games that suit my tastes.
Star Fox 64 3D has been my favorite of the games I own, with Sonic Generations striking a close second, followed by Ocarina of Time 3D. The main problem with it is that the games, at least, the ones that I have played, have little replay value, so it doesn't keep me crawling back like a Pokemon would or a Mario would.
