Nameless Pokemon RPG

You're currently in Pallet Town, where Professor Oak is giving out free Pokedexes for his project: to create the ultimate Pokemon encyclopedia.
The RPG is mostly free-form, and anyone can shape the plot.
There are some simple playing rules to follow, so the RPG can remain good:
1. Please write in prose. It's like writing a story.
The incorrect way of doing this would be:
Bob: Look, Alice, a Rattata!
Alice: You keep pointing out every Pokemon we pass by. I already have two Rattatas.
Bob: Don't you want more?
The correct way of doing this would be:
There was a rustling behind Bob, and he spun around, seeing a Rattata. "Look, Alice, a Rattata!"
Alice turned to look at it, then facepalmed. "You keep pointing out every Pokemon we pass by. I already have two Rattatas."
Bob frowned, and said, "Don't you want more?"
You don't have to do it so detailed, perfectly, or quite so standardly, but this is the preferred format of RPG posts.
2. Please put thoughts into your posts. One-liners are also discouraged, however you are allowed to do it occasionally but not frequently. If you have a rather long one-line post, however, that's fine.
3. Try not to make your characters Mary Sues or Gary Stus.

Don't over-do it, however, Anti-Sues/Stus are depressing.
Likewise, your character is a normal human, and they have normal luck with Pokeballs.
4. Try to follow the way the Pokemon world is. Specifically, the Pokemon Special/Adventures world.
Each trainer can have more than 6 Pokemon with them, but it becomes a burden for them. PCs are available, though.
Pokemon tend to not listen to you if you don't nickname them.
In battle, trainers can have more than 1 Pokemon out unless it's explicitly stated that it's a one-on-one battle, and the trainers being attacked/having a status ailment inflicted on them is possible and quite frequent.
5. Trainers start out with 3 non-legendary Pokemon and 15 non-Master Ball items each.
Also, they're the good guys and protagonists. When the enemies/antagonists appear, players can roleplay any number of them, and forms aren't needed to register them, as they'd usually be defeated/killed off pretty quickly anyway.
And now, for the form:
