Oh sorry BTW DS has lost some of it' leverage because it doesn't have internet anymore. Also they wear out easier then Gamecube.

I never did post any actual thing in this topic, did I?

Looking back, the DS Lite is probably my favourite console of all time. I love everything about it. Except that mine has a broken touchscreen (works, but I can only touch the very right of the screen, no matter where I actually touch it) (I think it might have been a factory reject or something given that I got it really cheap from China?). But like, the design to me is just perfect. And I'll fondly remember the DS in general, because it happened around the same time of my life where I got a part-time job and all of a sudden I could just buy games myself any time I wanted instead of just getting them for Christmas. So that's why DS games are currently the biggest part of my collection nowadays (also because I can get them cheap in real life stores still).

The GameCube will also hold a special place in my heart, though, just… not as much. I mean, it's cool. It's just not _as_ cool. Kinda. I actually don't even like the controller that much. It had a cool hardware design with how compact it was and the little handle and shit I guess, but I dunno.

I always wondered why they included the handle. Did anyone actually use the handle to transport their GameCube?

That part of the Switch presentation was awesome (not quoted from memory because faulty memories): "We brought a little bit from every Nintendo console. (…) With the GameCube, we wanted to bring in portability, with its handle."

Nobody bought that
Period
xD

Also, regarding how compact it is, I say Wii, because it does both GC *and* Wii, and takes less space.
(Oh and also, fuck the Wii 2. I want muh GameCube controllers, god dammit!)

In theory: Yes, actually. You were supposed to take it from one room of your home to another, or at least Nintendo thought people would do that.

I don't see why nobody would do that. Everyone has one TV screen per room in their house, right?

Well maybe in UK/Europe because of the thing…

Hmm. Maybe that's why home computers were more popular than game consoles there in the 80s.

The thing? I'm uninformed.

The pronoun game, eh? I play that thing. I play it better than them, and he can prove it. She might not be happy I brought that home, but he'll use it.

If you know what i'm talking about, feel free to tell me.

The thing where you can only have one TV in the UK, or maybe it was like… you had to pay extra if you have more than one TV and you need a license from the government or something? And maybe that was a thing in Europe too.

I swear that was a thing, right? I'm not just misremembering something?

OI YOU CHEEKY POOFTAH WHERE'S YOUR MULTIPLE TV LOICENCE?

TV licences are real things but I've never heard about Britbongs only being allowed one per household. But with how draconic it's becoming over there that'll probably become a thing in time.

Also I prefer the Gamecube over DS. Namely because the Gamecube has Smash Bros. Melee and The Simpsons Hit & Run.

If that's real, that's a completely asinine law.

Never needed to transport it but it was the first game system I ever played on because my uncle had one and played it with me a lot. I got a DS as my first ever handheld (not system because we had gotten a Wii recently) for christmas at the age of … I think 7? But still the reason the Handguns can win graphics is one thing.

BIGGER SCREEN.
