Who here enjoys 8-bit music?

8-bit music is music from the NES, Gameboy, Game Gear/Master System, Commodore 64, etc, and also music from modern games like Cave Story.

I listen to it a lot, and consider it a genre of music.

Some people might not be able to stand it at all, though I find it extremely melodious and like the sound of the simple instruments.

I like it enough that I would even use it as the style of music for an entire game, if I made one.

actually I consider alot of it classical. They use ALOT of instruments but they can't be heard due to the crappy sound quality of the games! for instance I can hear a flute in the poke center in yellow.

It's very hit-or-miss for me.

When it's well done, I like it. Otherwise, 8 bit music is irritating to me.

Technically the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive's YM2612's soundchip is actually 8-bit butIt is capable of doing some neat things regardless. 8-Bit music doesn't bother me as long as it isn't overly repetitive. (Even if it is I might still listen to it more than two loops if the tune is good.)

Same with me. Either I find the tune very melodious and whistle along absentmindedly, or I mute the song after two loops because it's too annoying.

Personally, I like a lot of the 8-bit music on R/B/Y.

I assume that music for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive counts as 16-bit music, so I'll say that I like some 8-bit music, but not ALL 8-bit music.

I love 8-bit music.

Always brings me back to older times.

Nostalgia blast FTW.
