Good laptop for under $400?

Hey, guys I am finally getting a laptop soon! Any recommendations? We are on a low budget so it needs to be less than $400 (though I might pitch in an extra $50 if its really worth it), I want it to have windows 7 (not vista). I want to get one that can run Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 really well (like with a huge park and at nighttime with lots of fireworks), so a good processor and video card is favorable. I am considering an Acer or Dell. I know there are lots of computer nerds here, thanks!

Sadly, $400 will barely get you a netbook, much less a gaming computer.

RCT3 might run acceptably on a netbook. It was released in 2004… check out ebay, craigslist, and/or a local pawn shop before buying one new. I spent $600 on mine (3GB, 1.3 GHz Acer Timeline) before realizing I could have spent that money more wisely.

Good luck finding a cheap machine with 7 on it. This is within your price range but it has XP.

After looking at the system requirements for RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 the computer Adrian recommended should run RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 without any real problems. The computer, although a netbook, surpasses the system requirements. Also, although that computer does not come with Windows 7 installed, you could just install it separately. From what I recall the Windows 7 OS minimum requirements aren't huge so if you obtained a copy of Windows 7 you should be able to install it onto that computer.

My brother recently got a Toshiba netbook with Windows 7 preloaded for only $300. Not sure about the specs on it, but it's definitely good price-wise and has Windows 7.

If newegg wasn't down right now, I could find something with 64-bit Windows 7 and a lot of ram.

Right now, I am looking at a Wal-mart ad for an Acer aspire 5734 that they are selling for $328, which seems pretty awesome. Here are the specs http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?LanguageISOCtxParam=en&kcond61e.c2att101=82739&sp=page16e&ctx2.c2att1=25&link=ln438e&CountryISOCtxParam=US&ctx1g.c2att92=447&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=1192392635 (dang, what a long URL O_o). If you guys find something better that is within my price range that would be great, otherwise I will probably get that. I will have more internet time when I finally have a laptop ^_^, thanks for helping y'all!
