Extended ("MySpace"-like) profiles and other things

I was considering adding an "extended profile" (e.g. what MySpace has), that'll allow you to have a guestbook/comment page as well as blogs and actual "friends" (as opposed to a buddy list).

I was also considering having a video or even just a file-sharing component added on.

Thoughts plz

You should try it on my new test account!
Test account: Longcat
Test account password: ****

Edit from MissingNo: We has several test accounts already that admins use. Also, don't put its password out into the public. (people could ban evade if we didn't IP ban, etc.) ~MiNo

I'd prefer something along the lines of usernotes (e.g. vBulletin's) rather than a guestbook. Blogs are okay, and I'd be happy even with just a "bio" page (e.g. Acmlm's). I've never used buddy lists, really, so I have no opinion on that. Implement what you want.

I've been to fancy fourms where you can edit your profile right? We all have. But some fourms have a blog system in them where you can read users blogs…Execpt you could do that on normal fourms too just using/making a board.
but sometimes on their sites there is a staff profile/blog thing too.
Its cool
But yea I agree with this 98%! xD

Update: I've added a simple blog component and profile comment mod to the forums. I'm still in the process of determining how to display blog entries and whatnot, though.

You still haven't explained what the point of this is exactly.

Why assume everything has to have a point?

Can only the owner of the blog view comments?
And is there an easier way of accessing the Blogs?

As far as I know everyone can view blog comments (this is the way nearly all blog systems work). And as for "easier way" to access the blog, what would you suggest?

I have no idea. Link off Profiles? Is there one already?
