It's what I mean. I have heard that the main site to GCL, was hacked.

Wrong, SC_f3 just messed with some folders via her ftp:// access we gave her and made it crash because she had no idea what she was doing.

Beisdes most would hack a forum to change things around to really fuck things up because they don't have anything else better to do.

That's what I just said.

I'll still leave this going to see what everyone else thinks. After all everyone else has a right to their own opinion.

The GCLF site WAS hacked. Some Spanish people had put Javascript code into some of the articles to interfere with people's ability to view those articles. It was a HUGE bitch to remove those code, since often, NoScript wouldn't work either.

SMF, the forum software running this forum, has undergone much testing and programming, and it's pretty certain that Javascript cannot be exploited to hack this forum. Besides, if they did hack, it's up to the administrators, not the people, to deal with it. We're administrators for that reason.

And I'm just a Local Mod, with barely anything to do. I'm either no trusted or it's something else. Anyway I've still got these stupid videos to get, finished ugh. Already got 9.

That's not hacking, that was scriptembedding via the HTML in the posts.

SMF disallows HTML with a certain option (that is already checked, besides, it disallows scriptembedding even if not checked) so it's fine.

Edit: I should WOM you every time you go off topic to bitch about you not being a mod like I would a normal member. :\

Weird. I don't know much about forum codes, so I just know how to create 'em and create skins. Well, only one forum hoster.

It IS hacking in a way. Especially because scripting = programming = hacking.

Yes, no more special treatment. Anyway, how high does your Warn O Meter need to get before your demoted?

On topic, admins are the people who make decisions like this. We do what is best for the fourm. If after we enabled guest posting there was a load of spam and bad posting, then we'd remove it. If everyone hated it, we'd remove it. But seeing as nothing like that is occurring, we're keeping the guest posting. Same goes for most things, admins do what they think is best for the fourms. So, Mutou Yami, do everyone a favor and stop complaining about the chain of command was how you have little power. Little power is better then none.

I'm in favor of guest posting. This board has never been "hacked." The main site used to be plagued with spam comments because there was no way to moderate them, which is definitely not the case in the actual board. Some people aren't inclined to register at every board they see, even if they want to say something, and allowing them to post in one or two boards would be beneficial for them.

Someone was doing it wrong, then, because NoScript always works.

This place needs to lighten up and learn of how different I am. Demote me all you like. A rank is a rank. I shall continue with Female Symbol. *Removes topic*

This thread is about guest posting. This thread is not about you. Let's keep it that way.

It clearly worked, except that I think he also inserted HTML redirects or something. Anyway, most of us tried NoScript, it failed.

And, there WAS a way to moderate the comments. Most of us thought the system should be axed, though.

::) There's no point if everyone else wants the guests to post then there is no need to keep it.

There is absolutely a need to keep it. Things like this are useful as archives at the very least.

Well, that makes more sense. Noscript blocks Javascript but not meta tags.

Just let everyone else have a say. It's why I hate it when people suddenly get to be admins, because they won't allow everyone else to have say in something like this. So, I'll keep this going until everyone else has had a saying.
THE INTARWEBZ ARE NOT A DEMOCRACY LOL
