Can anyone more familiar with MediaWiki (or our fork) give me a quick rundown on the difference? Generally, I mark an edit as patrolled if it looks acceptable, but don't hit "Accept revision" unless a reliable source has already confirmed it and it should have been on the site already.

I don't know sorry. However, on other wikis patrolled is a feature for marking an edit as trustworthy. Sometimes it appears with a red "!" when it needs to be patrolled. Reviewed on the other hand is for wikis that have a review system like ours, e.g. with the "Accept revision"/"Unaccept revision"

I think reviewing may be required for staff/QC members here, but not sure if Abwayax wants us to patrol every page. Ideally it may be good to review and patrol every page (to remove the "!", click "diff" and then click the circled button below.)
