Starter Pokemon question.

Ok, so I'm playing Pokemon Blue, and I started off by using the 01??1ED1 code to pick any Pokemon I wanted as a starter.

For example, I picked Weezing (018F1ED1), and I get a Snorlax.
The only thing about it that makes it a Weezing is the name and type of Pokemon it is. It even has Snorlax's attacks.

Somehow, I doubt that's right…
Is this sort of thing normal, or did I just do it wrong? x3

Hybrid lol. That stuff can also result from the Q Glitch.

Snorlax, the Poison Gas Pokemon. Ahh.

To be serious, I think you did something wrong, but I don't use Gameshark. :/

The starter code is not the best code ever, it has rendering errors that fix itself after you turn the code off. But so does the wild Pokemon code, doesn't it! It shows most Pokemon as glitchy blobs.

Basically the Starter Pokemon code sets most things to the code, not just the Starter, so Pokemon Share the same Level,  Pokedex and other with the code, but infact it is something different.

For example 01011ED1 would give you a level 1 Bulbasaur called Rhydon. When you turn the code off it would be Rhydon.
01021ED1 would give a level 2 Ivysaur called Kangaskan. It would be a Kangaskan when the code turns off…. etc

Newo, is right. It's like within my research threads, for VBA, since I don't own a Gameshark, and I don't want to ruin my cartridges, so I put in the code, 01001ED1, and I got 'M. Some Pokemon, have weird, names even numbers, that don't go past 151, in the R/B games. I'm still trying to get some Pokemon, that have crashed on me, to appear, so depends on the code, you use, you will get that "Pokemon" Glitch. It's scary at first, if you never did it before, but ROMS, are your best friend, and you can glitch around, without worrying about ruining the game. So, the game, thinks that you have a Wheezing, but has a sprite of a Snorlax, and Snorlax's status. It could just be a Hybird, of a Snorlax/Wheezing.
