A rather odd GS glitch in Silver

Chances are you've already heard of this one, but if you type 0107A1D3 into GS on Silver, you get a rather bizarre glitch that knocks your sprite out of whack with the visible map, making you able to bypass opcode errors at certain points via WTW (the map either rolls around or you get a Glitch City-type effect, especially on water)

Problem is I don't know how to reverse the effects? Help plox?

EDIT: It appears to affect the save you are using, even after you turn off/delete the code. I'm guessing it modifies the entire ROM irreversibly. I don't know whether or not I should be pleased for discovering such a screwy code…

EDIT 2: The whole screwed-up map placement seems to occur only after you've wandered around in these "Glitch Cities" or rolled over the map for a while. You MUST have WTW activated to get these effects.

EDIT 3: A good place to get this effect is by walking straight from the Gym in Vermillion through to Saffron. At some point, your sprite will become invisible s you cross into Saffron. The map will appear a tad glitched, but voila! you've done it! If using VBA, remember to save in a different slot.

Typed the code into Gold, and nothing happened…

Does it have to be Silver?

It took me a while to realise the effects, and I'm not sure if it's Silver only. If anything I described doesn't happen, it's likely to be Silver-exclusive.

Tried on Silver; nothing happened. Do I need WTW? (I'm not using it right now)

Yeah, you need WTW.

I think I got it! I walked north of New Bark, and the game brought up the wrong tiles!

Nice find.

If you guys could (or maybe me, since I never do anything on the actual games) examine this a bit more and get some good info, it could go onto the wiki.

Update: I walked up and left, and it repeated a partial route and messed up New Bark without NPC's a couple of times before I was forced to enter a gate house. I got out of the house on to the Route left of New Bark, and went to New Bark. It was back to normal, except some of the NPC's took on the player's sprite.

I'm gonna go make a video of it tomorrow and experiment with code numbering to see if there is any variations worth noting.

I've had that before I discovered the code. I think it's a sideeffect of WTW.

Possibly. I could check…

EDIT: Yep, it is. *feels like a dumbass*

Don't worry, we all make mistakes. That's why Almighty Mod invented the "delete" button ;)

Nice find! I can now safely WTW without worrying about it crashing when I drop off the borders. Perhaps you could find one for red too, then we could really see what's in the grass at Pallet Town :P
