Stupid wifi connector

I was going to get on wifi so I connected my wifi connector but it didn't work so I uninstalled its registeration tool, and I tried to reinstall it but it froze in the middle of it installing, so I closed it then I tried to install it agin it got to the end and it said in an error box "please insert the wifi conector in your computers USB port" but it was, so I clicked the OK button and both the installer thing and the error box closed. I want to use WiFi.
Any help on how to get it to work?

Try getting a different one.
