Pokemon Breeding

Wouldn't it be cool if you could breed one Pokemon with another and get a combo? Like, I don't know, if you bred Persian with a Delcatty you would get a baby that could evolve to both, and that is the only way you could get it?

That would be most interesting, as would breeding Pokemon and ending up with two different possible Pokemon combinations. Like for example, breeding a Mightyena and an Absol.

Results:

This would certainly be interesting if pokemon could have a maximum of three types; you could get interesting combinations through breeding (Aggron+Swampert=Steel/Rock/Water or Water/Steel/Ground?). However the sprites would probably have to be altered through some arbitrary process (recolors probably), unless Nintendo can trap a spriter in every game. Movesets could be fused too (Iron Tail Mudkip, anyone?), and even base stat characteristics (Swampert tank? Awesome!).

That would be very hard to create in a game, but well worth it.

Dude they made over 2000 pokemon (exaggeration) and your telling me it is hard to morph them all with each other? (well yeah then again it would be hard…. but still if they could make that much they can morph them!)

Ah yes, the perfect thread to point out that Skitty and Wailord can breed.

It would be easy to do if they put in a system where it just swapped pallets instead of a whole new set of sprites.

Yup. "Hot Skitty On Wailord Action" (HSOWA) is in fact a meme.

Not necessarily; the pallets would have to be reformatted so that similar shades of colors would match up if swapped (e.g. dark blue to dark pink for Wailord and Skitty.), as currently they do not.

I like the pallet swapping idea.
