EDIT: Actually, if you have a Pokémon with a special stat of 20, you can proc a level 1 Arcanine to appear via trainer escape glitch + cable club escape glitch then using growl 6 times on it.  Catching the level 1 Arcanine then defeating a level 2 pidgey or similar will cause the Arcanine to jump to level 100.  At level 100, the Arcanine has an effective special stat of 184 if used in the trainer escape + cable club escape glitch – the special stat needed for a Ghost MissingNo. to appear.

(Effective meaning if used on the rival battle near Viridian or the trainer on Route 3 with a Jigglypuff whose Pokémon both have spd/spc DVs of 88 and no Stat EXP)

Wait is Arcanine effected by experience underflow? I thought it was just certain 3-stage evolution lines.

Also, with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYNqXzTKzcw and a little research it should be really simple to run Gen 1 without fighting a Rocket if the Rocket in front of Saffron Gym is made to vanish with the Mew Glitch. Would need to research what precise steps to take, however.

Arcanine is not a Pokémon from the medium-slow experience group. Therefore, the Experience Underflow Glitch will only work on him if you catch any eligible Pokémon at level 1, then change its ID by either using Super Glitch corruption or arbitrary code execution to make him an Arcanine before doing the glitch  :D

Now THAT is VERY interesting. Can…can the Q Trick do this?

It should be able to.

I never tried to use the Q Trick for this, but I guess it works yeah  ;) I'll try asap.
If you want to know more on the expanded experience underflow, see this thread.

I just realized there is a chance it wouldn't work as you would have a pokemon with negative experience in the box and the game would freeze upon withdrawing it.

Isn't there something about doing the Q Trick with the daycare or something? I don't know if he can deal with negative experience, although probably not.

Couldn't you do the Q Trick by depositing from your party rather than withdrawing from a box?

As for the daycare I think it functions in the same way a box would so you probably couldn't withdraw level 1 Pokémon from him.
