Commenting is disabled (finally) for obvious reasons, so if anybody still has anything to say, do so here. Anyway, I was wondering:
-Is it actually possible?
I don't want just unthought "Yes" or "No"s, I wany to know how it could be possible. It doesn't make sense to me that something could be that rare (highest techically possible is 65536 right?).
Just wanted to ask that, and this can be the thread replacing the comments. Delete this if you want.

Celebi's rarity is offically 45. It works backwards. Things like Caterpie are rarity 255.
Celebi has the same rarity as something like a Lunatone or a Solrock. It is rare but not impossible.

Come on. Latios/as is 3. 45 is nothing. I even set a pokemon to rarity 1 and I still found it.
It would have to be a special code, which I doubt exists.

That would mean it is extremely common, compared to 15453 or whatever people were saying.

No, 255 is extremely common. (it is only 2 digit (FF))

So its only about 6 times rarer than a Caterpie. Is it logarithmic?

A certain "MissingNo. Master" of Serebii.net forums mentions that he got a real Celebi in every Celebi-related thread, but it's hard to take him seriously when you note how zealous he is about it (his Location: "The Celebi Glitch is real!!!")

Who said it was real?
If we could find out the exact probablity we could serach that value and reduce it down to 1 so every wild pokemon would be celebi, but that would prove that it is real.
the highest likely value is 4,294,967,295 to 1 Which would be FFFFFFFF

Yeah, so is a lot of pokemon you can't find. Mew, Mewtwo, Alakazam…just about anything

Wait, 45 is impossible to find? :???: This is getting a bit hard to foillow :-X.

As I understand it rarity relates to the probability of catching with a Poke Ball, not the possibility of encountering the Pokemon.

Is it? Then what is it's rarity. I haven't actually checked if rarity makes any difference, so I don't actually know. :/
It probably is how easy it is to catch.
