Holy shit you found a Geodude that's caught over 100 dingus Pokemon? Gosh and I thought a surfing Pikachu was impressive. I can barely get it up just to see all the Pokemon in my National Dex. You put up a good fight though, that Geodudes gonna be League Champ one day.

Give me a head's up when you stumble upon Mankey that likes shorts because they're comfy and easy to wear, then I think I'll have seen all there really is to see.

Holy s**t you found a Geodude that's caught over 100 dingus Pokemon?

Yes indeed, and if I had caught it I would have obtained his Pokemon collection as well!

Too bad! The Pokemon thievery was cancelled!

So i've decided to possibly start a glitch series, but on Pokemon Azul, Bleu, Blu, Blau, Gelbe, and Amarilla seeing how the english versions have been done to death. Here's episode 000, where yes we take a look at missingno. and a glitch item in Gelbe and Amarilla that I haven't posted about here yet. Tell me if you'd like it and perhaps i'll make more… or just continue to document those items and glitch Pokemon in text format. :V

I've begun making my own sort-of glitch series.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OisdH_07awM&feature=youtu.be

I started out using a code which I saw in one of Camper's video, I wanted to test it out myself and was surprised to see very different results in yellow!
Next I'll look into more codes, but I'm also experimenting with non-gameshark glitches as well.

your latest video is pretty crazy camper, I think that's most messed up the game has been that I've seen.
I've enjoyed watching Raven Freak's videos as well. I'm surprised there is such a difference in other language versions of the game.

As the RAM of Pokemon Yellow shifts one byte from Red and Blue, what you've edited is not the one I did. Hence the different results.

here's a youtuber that made 7 videos using the memory viewer. The first 6 are old and he doesn't say what he edited. But the latest one he apparently began doing it systematically.
Some of the stuff in these are absolutely outrageous.

1720, eh? That's a new address for me.  Will have to mess around with it and see what fun I can have.

…of course, downloading Yellow's ROM might help as well.  :P

I'm sure it also works in Blue.
Changing 3906 to 9F is getting a bit boring, as all it does is some glitch dialogue and sounds, and changing the same bytes to set values. Nothing special, once I experienced the extremes.
My next plan is to upload the remaining videos about the glitches mentioned above, and try another value (I heard 5F is also good).

EDIT: The 5F value is just a more vigorous version. The same bytes get changed to the same set of value. It only produces more glitch sounds, game lockups, crashes and op-code errors.

A live Pokemon Gold speedrun by Werster, by save corruption. I don't know how that works, but he cloned lots of Geodude and somehow overflowed his party with glitches (bad clones?). Whenever he viewed his party, the map becomes glitched until entering a warp point or resetting so that he could pass through normally blocked paths (Magnet train, Snorlax, Victory Road guard, rival). He failed to beat E4 at the end though since his L100 Pokemon wouldn't obey.

After that, he speedran Pokemon Yellow with save corruption, and showed some related glitches, like healing at the Pokemon Center with the corrupted party (strangely the game went on without crashing), going to Route 1 (probably a phantom one) and encountering a wild Pokemon ("Wild appeared!", although he had Pokemon with him), and walking back to normal Pallet Town on a bush tile (that's why I think it's a phantom map). The last one caused Oak to appear and begin travelling around the world in 10 seconds. After 10+ loops, the player started to walk left and went straight into the grass. The screen turned yellow and the game crashed.

The video itself is bugged. Have anyone experienced the same thing before? If yes, I want to know the reason.

More 3906! There WILL BE MORE! The next episode will be a continuation of this.

A weird glitch in the Pokemon Yellow Save Corruption.
Upon examining it more, it looks like some variation of the ZZAZZ glitch.

They're really similar. Save corruption changes most of the RAM to FFh or 00h while ZZAZZ changes part of the RAM to 99h. However, ZZAZZ doesn't cause this kind of reset. Super Glitch does.

Back in action, motherpluckers!

I've been slowing down my futzing about with 3906 and experimenting with 1578. Changing the first four bytes of that address to "08, (any two numbers above 50), 20, 01" has some very interesting effects.

Changing the second byte to 71 causes the game to do a glitchy noises lockup/opcode error when it tries to view Pokemon sprites.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9aM6gAMplc

…or, sometimes, it will give a Pokemon this sprite and then crash spectacularly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0BfTVgOAs8

Changing that byte to most addresses in the 80s causes a crash, but the crashes are interesting…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN7hQXrvQDY

I've also experimented with 0041 some more (apparently changing the first byte from 24 to 22 is the only thing you can really mess with, so that the game doesn't crash at the slightest provocation). It's a really fickle byte, causing mostly text-related crashes, but it also results in such interesting things as map/room/warp data confusion.
