Gary is right. For example, 1,000 items is ?00, 1,001 is ?01, and so on. It's a placeholder for values too big for that spot. Here's another example. When I didn't have the National Pok?dex and I caught a Ditto, it said its number was ???.

IT's a floating abra
That crashes the game when you catch it.
EDIT: If it breaks free it does a long glitch animation.
EDIT:8A3F crashes the game.

Is there a button press needed to initiate the encounter? Just another stupid question, because I punched in 8040 and nothing's happening.

8040 is a Floating Kadabra that Freezes when Caught.
8041 is the same thing, but it's Alakazam.
8042 is a Machop with a 10 Second long Animation where it Dissapears, then reappears. Freezes when caught.
8043 is a Machoke with a weird animation indeed, it does the 10 second long disappearing act 8042 did, but then reappears twice as a warped, pixilated, blobish version of itself, after that it goes back to it's usual sprite. Freezes when caught.

I'm using newos code.
it seems that it's just the wild pokemon modifier code, but you can change how many masterballs you get, thus changing the pokemon you get.

Okay, look people. They all freeze the game when you catch them. The Pok?dex number is at least 32,768 for hybrids. Also, so many glitches just crash the game I've decided to use random numbers instead of going in order. If you're smart, you probably will too. :P

EDIT: Boxman, use 0084 as the Pok?mon hex if you want to get Ditto. Don't freak out if it says Ditto's number is 000. It's because you don't have the national dex.

Emulators and ROMs have a higher resistance to crashing than actual games.

EDIT: Hmm, maybe I should make a glitch collection on my ROM version.
