Pokémon Emerald Hack

Okay, if this isn't in the right place, feel free to move it and where do I begin… About two or three months ago, I've been trying to work on a Pokémon Emerald hack, but I have no clue what I'm doing. I can change the maps, but everything else is alien to me. I use AdvanceMap, to change the maps, but I have no clue how to add custom sprites, music, etc. I currently use No$GBA because VBA isn't working for me at the moment, and I'm using Emerald, so what am I doing wrong? Any advice is welcome, thanks for any advice.

The original VBA will never load Emerald. Try out VBA-Rerecording instead.

What Operating System are you using? I have a bunch of tools that I use, but only some of them work with Windows 7. AdvanceText, for me, doesn't work on my OS for some reason.

The tools I use:
AdvanceMap
AdvanceText
AdvanceMart
A-Starter
A-Tack
Berry Editor

You can pull off some good-quality hacks if you use these tools and put time into it.

I used VBA in the past which worked, but at the moment it refuses.

I use a Windows 7 64-bit OS, ASUS system. I use AdvanceMap to change the maps look, but I haven't figured out how to add anything, yet. Sprites are the worst, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. What else would you recommend? I can post the maps I've got started.

Who told you that? Just change Save Type to Flash 128k and youre good to go.

I have about two to three types of VBA, one to gamelink, and the other two to help me with videos if I remake my glitch research. Anyway here's some of the maps I've got changed, just thinking how. There's a story behind the main house or second house, which I can give a small explaination.

Mursakai City [Purple City - beta name because I haven't thought of one, just yet]

First House - Main Floor:

First House - Second Floor:

Second House - Main Floor :

Second House - Second Floor:

Okay, let me clear this up, before some may get the wrong idea.

Alexis is the twin-sister of Alexia, as Alexis suffers from night terrors and is a sleepwalker, so Alexia is always asleep beside Alexis, as when she sleepwalks, she can't be awoken and the house is often locked in case she goes missing again.

The Laboratory:

Beta test on status screens - I made two, as a test really.

Trainer:

Pokemon:

If the maps should be posted else where, please let me know and I'll move them, but these are what I got made so far, in the hack.

Looks to be shaping up well. Do you think you could keep me posted on its development? This looks like it has the potential to be one of the more thorough and well-done hacks out there.

Thanks, I made them from screenshots of actual Emerald when I got it running on No$GBA, but the maps came out pretty good. Sure, I'll keep this updated, but the things you mention before, are what should look for? Or is there anything else I should be looking for?

The tools that I mentioned? Yeah, you'd need them if you want to create a really "unique" hack, like, with custom berries and custom attacks and custom marts. All help create a unique region.

Alright, thanks. I'll see if I can find them, as I'm glad I didn't get to make my game back in 2006, as I've "improved" so my friends have said, as the Demon/Angel Pokemon I made will be added, they are an official type in my hack, I dunno about Shadow Pokemon, that's a maybe. If I get anymore maps done, I'll let ya know. =3

Hey guys I was wondering, how would I be able to like use some things from other generations? I wanted to use the Pokemon follow you-thing like in Yellow, or HG/SS, but instead of one Pokemon it'll be the entire party, I can't decide if G/S/C battle animation was good. Sorry for any errors, Firefox doesn't have a spell checker.

They might be a little hard to find now, but, if you need them, let me know and I can send you a copy of them.
As for using things from other generations, that'd be beyond my knowledge, but I'm sure there's some sort of tool out there that can get Pokemon to follow you.

Well, last time I tried to look on Google, I ran into a virus but thankfully Avast! stopped it before it did any damage. If you can send me copies, I will be grateful. If the Pokemon following isn't possible, then it'll be Plan B, because it would of been pretty fun to have, but who knows. I'll try and get some maps, done if I can without getting disracted by sprites. They are evil when I'm not looking. =P

I'll get them up on Mega as soon as I can and send them over to you. Maps, for me, are really fun to do and create, and I always had fun making large, vast maps, with a lot of content to them. Only problem was getting all the tiles in all the right places xD

XD I have that issus each time I change a map, thing's gone ass up here so at the moment I'm lagging behind new maps and sprites. Everything is still in beta, and I sure as hell won't be up 7AM again!

Thanks Missing, I'll try and get some maps done, if I haven't been disracted by moving things about, idiots who were supposed to paint the flat bedrooms are doing it today when they should of done it last year. Sigh, anyway here's one of new routes I got done just forgot to post.

Route 01 - old school ftw! XD:

You should fill that little pond with level 101 Gyarados that know Fissure, Sheer Cold, Guillotine, and Horn Drill. Make the moves always hit for extra fun!
