There actually is a way to get event pokemon but from my knowledge they are completely randomized! These mons ARE transferable and all you have to go is go into the wifi settings and change the dns to 164.132.044.106

The pokemon ive found so far are
The shiny sinnoh legends from 2013
A shiny metagross from a championship
The mythical unova pokemon
A flying pikachu
Two other champion pikachus
A champion Ludicolo
Reshiram/Zekrom
Champion smeargle
and an egg

Yeah, this is a good way at the moment to get what you want in older generations from at least Generation IV and onward.

But I feel these class more as exploits than glitches (while the exploit itself is unintended), and the hackers have made it so you get these Pokémon from their custom servers, just (in this case) made which ones you get as random. But due to a recently discovered vulnerability, this is now possible without a cheating device. It used to be possible without a cheating device (before the termination of Nintendo WFC) and now is possible again.

Doesn't entering the GTS require the game to authenticate with the official (dead) servers even if you're using a custom DNS?

It failed on White (60000 error)…couldn't test properly on Pearl due to it not being a DSi game (see below). I was going to test it with Gen 6/7 before realizing I'd have to update the software on my copies of those to connect to the GTS…which would mean updating the firmware… :(

If the Wiimmfi patcher is needed, I'm still out of luck for testing them, as at this house I can only connect to Wi-Fi in DSi mode and can only run ROMs on my DS/3DS in DS mode.

In theory yes, but you can now spoof them using nds-constraint.

Ahh, I see! I thought the Wiimmfi patch was the only way. Will test again soon! :)

And BINGO was his name-o!

For anyone wondering (as I went through quite a bit of trial and error), what I ended up doing was loading the game up from a New 3DS (probably doesn't matter which system, because then, I) went into the WFC settings from the Continue menu, put 178.62.43.212 as my primary DNS and 8.8.8.8 as my secondary one, and then chose Mystery Gift. To set up the hotspot, I used my phone to create one that was open only to allowed devices, and then added the 3DS's MAC address to the allowed devices.

It's certainly not the golden age of IR-GTS and Pokécheck yet, but it sure is a step in the right direction! Anyone who missed the chance to RNG these event exclusives has another chance now.

Before testing this with Gen 5, let's move this to Pokémon Discussion…

Now that it has, let's try it in the game Pokedude originally asked about. Be grateful; I had to steel myself for overwhelming(ly pleasurable) physical sensations booting up this one!

Yep, it works in 5th Gen! Try it out!

Does someone have a full ordered list of the events you can get throught it? I've seen that you can change the DS clock to get whatever event you want…

You'd have to ask KaeruTeam…if there's a particular one you want, though, I can trade it to you. :)

How do you do this? I'm very confused.

I used to have dumps of the distribution carts for a couple of 'em. Dunno what happened to the dumps. Might still be floating around.

Which part are you having trouble with?

Ohhh… I thought WFC was in the DS menu, not the game's menu. I obviously haven't ever done anything event-related before, haha. I get it now.

That part was probably the most confusing to me, too! I'm not sure how the two sets of configured connections relate/overlap on newer systems. Post a screenshot when you get one of the events!
