I use Windows XP, any by god I hate it. Everyone else in my house has a Mac OS X. I'm the only one in the house using Windows, and I want a Mac, I got on my dad's computer once and everything seemed, so much…smoother and…better. I only have an XP in the first place to run PC games, plus the fact that I couldn't afford OS X. Hopefully this will change by Christmas and I'll have my MacBook.

I have Windows XP Home on two computers, and Vista Ultimate for gaming. I don't know the complete specs, but the Vista is die-hard awesome top-of-the-line merchandise. Cost over $4,000 to buy all of the parts and change them out of one of the other one's I have. Runs like a charm, until it crashes.

You paid $4000 for a system that crashes. Are you happy with that?

Anybody who doesn't use Windows is just trying to be different and in denial that it's obviously the best and most efficient OS out on the market.  They may mess up now and then, but there are no god damn spinning rainbows or just the whole thing freezing for virtually no reason.

I never said Windows freezes for everyone. Read the original post, where Pikachu~ said the system he bought "runs like a charm, until it crashes."

Nobody's denying that Windows is ubiquitous enough to be a practical choice, but it's not always the "best choice" either. There's no way it compares to Unixes when used as a server, for example.

I wasn't talking to anyone specifically, just in general.

I've used Linux for 9 months. NEVER got a kernel panic (BSoD for Linux and Unix-like systems), and I'm quite curious to find out what one looks like, but I can't find a way to crash my Linux computer.

And in those 9 months, I saw around five BSoDs on my Windows computer.

Mine freezes up for no reason.
Anyway: Kyoukipichi: Is there anything simular to task manager in that Linux distro?

Xubuntu? I'm not sure, since I haven't used Xfce in a while. But if you don't mind the terminal, you can open one up, and type, "killall programname".
