Introduction (yes, my rants have introductions.)

So I dug out my Yu-Gi-Oh cards the other day after watching the entire abridged series twice. Whilst doing so I discovered that I could easily recognize the anime characters on my card case. Now that I had The Sight, I became royally pissed off at whoever came up with this art. Here is why:

Mai Valentine had a nice spot on the cover (along with Yami and Joey.) She got her butt kicked by T?a, for Pete's sake! Plus she's wearing minimal clothing, which gives me the impression that she's just in there for all the guys, which is ironic because the reason they probably came up with is "Well we can't have just guys on the cover! It'll make us look sexist!" I mean, come on. If you want to give females equal treatment, then put T?a on the freaking case, or go work for Disney or something. And if the reason you used Mai was because you didn't want to have only Yugi's friends there while simultaneously attempting to not be sexist, then use Bakura; he's effeminate enough to make the cut. Jesus H. Christ, some people drive me completely crazy. Like Steven Covey…

Is this another rant? I suppose so.

So I open up this year's school agenda. After thoroughly reading the rules (though they haven't changed from last year) I got to the "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" calendar/planner. If you haven't heard of "Seven Habits" or Steven Covey, then I'll just say that he wrote a book about habits that supposedly make you a better person. I think he's brainwashing people into a cult. Here's why:

For each month there is a story (usually written in the second person) that while completely lacking in any sort of literary commentary whatsoever is apparently supposed to make you follow a Habit for the month (e.g. Synergy). Most of these make no sense whatsover, and involve actions that I, the model student, would never even think about doing (faking a flat tire to get out of an algebra test, splurging on shoes and cellphone minutes), making me feel like a bad person because I am apparently doing such things. Does Steven Covey have the right to take over our school agenda and brainwash us into his "everybody who isn't us is a bad person" philosophy? No. At least last year the stories made some degree of sense and the illustrations were easy to mock, but the only thing I've been able to deface my new agenda with is "over Satan" instead of "under God" in the copy of the Pledge of Allegiance (and if you're Christian and feel offended by this, a) Satan is still part of Christianity and b) several good family friends whom I've known since childhood were pseudo-Satanists, so STFU.) I'm taking this to Principal Ortiz!


Well, I'm certain that there's more of my ranting lying about, but this is the best that I could scrounge up. Yay for minor insanity!

Nobody wants to hear the boring smidgens of information that come out of your Twitter account, not even your friends. That's right, they just want you to see their account in the vain hope that you'll pay attention. Maybe Twitter was useful in the recent Iran nonelection protests, but the sheer amount of time, energy, and focus that it takes away from American teenagers is absolutely unforgivable, especially when they could be doing something useful, like going outside and playing sports (yes, I'm a hypocrite, I never do any of those things and I don't have a Twitter account, but I have more important things to do, like rant on the internet or raise that Dragon Rushing Aggron, and besides I have asthma and sinus issues.) If Twitter ever wants to regain a good reputation, then it should donate a large portion of it's profits to organizations that help make kids more active (but then it would probably tell them to make the kids report their exercise habits via Twitter.) DEATH TO TWITTER!

Is this what sleep deprivation does to my writing? I should stay up past midnight every night!
