Fivex, I've been around computers long before you, no doubt and Nortron is s**t. My 98 computer had it and that got corrupted, and I couldn't delete it, nor disable it. Avria, is useless. I've used it before it's never found anything wrong when I scanned with Avast anti-virus, it picked up malware. Avast, has had over 17 million downloads, of it's software. Avast gives you online protection as well as anti-virus protection. I'd buy it if I had the money. Something about that Antivirus 2009, reminds me of this virus I was reading a few weeks ago. If I can remember the name, I'll tell you Glisp, on how to safely remove it. System Restore, has heleped my PC, when I kept getting the fatal blue screens of death caused by memory fault/virus attacks. Again, another virus/worm seems to disable important things, like Task manager, and other things. I think Conficker, is only caught if, something about another computer, I'll have to look.
Hmm, would these change your mind:
Norton(Watch in order):

I've had AVG on my 98, when Nortron was finally removed. AVG, couldn't pick up spyware but all it could find was viruses. Avast anti-virus has been voted #1. Go to their website, and they will tell you about their protection against viruses. Ever since I've had Avast, my PC (parents as well as mine) have been safe. Glisp, have you seen/noticed any files with these names:

svchost.exe, explorer.exe and services.exe.?

I'm not saying you might be infected with Conficker, but Wikipeida, has all types of infomation on it, and other viruses/worms over the years.

Did you actually watch the videos?
ANd yeah, only those files if they are outside of the (windows drive lletter)C:\windows\system32 directory… though there might be expIorer.exe in there. IT looks the same as explorer.exe in windows font.

Exactly. Fivex, them videos won't prove a damn thing. My PC is stuck with AVG due to problems with Avast, so knowing my luck on how useless my Windows XP computer is, it's infected with viruses. Fivex, you may think AVG/Nortron are good, when I've used them myself and they were useless. Avira, isn't as effective as Avast. Avira slows down my systems performance, where Avast, doesn't. I've been using Avast for about 3 years and it's the best damn anti-virus anti-spyware protection there is. I have Spybot Search & Destroy and all computers in the flat. (Minus the one in my parents room that is never used nor has any Internet connection). I was reading about a virus, that causes that Antivirus 2009, I will find out the name sooner or later.

Look, I've been around a lot of old computers nearly all my life and I know what I'm on about. I've seen how some old viruses/worms work, and the anti-virus system, like AVG were not able to get rid of them only to put them in a Virus Vault. Avast, gives you a choice to lock the infection into a chest, or delete it from the computer permanently. I still haven't found the name yet to the MS Antivirus problem. The name of the infection is in my mind somewhere but I can't remember it's pesky name. AVG seems to only detect Trojans, not worms. Glisp what's the name of the site you went to? Some of them may of been updated to improve but, again still not able to remove/stop the virus/worm from spreading. AVG, hasn't been able to detect any of the viruses/worms, I've read about. I was gonna get MacFee, but I have no money.

The chest is the same as quarentine, which most programs have.

Yes, but it's better to remove the file the virus comes from to save the computer from hanging forever, as some can cause death. I've had a computer die on me from a virus attack.

I've never had a problem with malwarebytes antimalware (can't speak for any of the others, except to say that Avira is decent)

but seriously guys this is why you should only pirate if you know what the hell you are doing
I had to get on my brother's ass because he used to download warez and porn and he was computer-illiterate (at least, compared to me) so I had to spend hours cleaning up my system

I understand that now Abwayax, which is why from now on I'm pirating things from websites that function in that business like, that one torrent site that has bay at the end that most pirates go to. (real name of site not mentioned due to legal reasons.)

svchost.exe, explorer.exe and services.exe.?

I think I've seen svchost.exe in my Task manager. (which I renable on a daily basis with Spybot.) The only other defense I have agianst viruses is Symantec Antivirus. Not exactly the best but it has saved me from quite a few of attacks in the past. It does however seem to not be able to locate some files for deletion even though they are registered as existing. Some virus troubles I've had in the past cleared up in a couple of days. I may have to reinstall Mozilla Firefox as it no longer seems to work. When I open it a blank page is displayed for just about every site I go to. I'm willing to download anything out of desperation now. Is Avast free?

Yes, it is. IT's just a Ok AV though.
But you should try malwarebytes anti malware(very good utillity), and super antispyware(another one, and esily picks up what MBAM misses).

Well, Glisp, I think Conficker disables sites, but I'm not fully 100% on the damage it causes, and yes Avast is free. I got a licence key from the site for mine and mine is fully free for a year or two, it's great. When you download like a torrent, the (a) the small orb will detect a threat and will warn you on what it is, like: Malware/Virus/Worm, and it'll recommend you to delete it. The (i) orb, is called the VRDB - Virus Recovery Database Generator, that will download updates for Avast. The (a) orb, is like an auto scanner, that keeps the system safe, and will detect a threat straight away.

Haha, I doubt the admins would let me post the link. It's harmless. (Avast site is, www.avast.com)

s**t! I can't download this! Its 30.06 MB. I'm not even sure that internet explorer will allow me to because professional sites don't seem to allow download resumes.

oh and Another thing that annoys me is when I download a program only to have the setup download installation materials and the download stop in mid process.

Holy shit! I think I just found the svchost.exe file. I was looking for something on the start menu in the programs section and happened to find a little thing on the menu that said svchost.exe. I right clicked on it and deleted it. My computer feels some what faster now. I'll let you know if it lasts later or not.
