There isn't just Conficker and Dozer.Win32, there's 200 000 000 other viruses located on the internet willing and ready to attack and compromise your computer no matter what your operating system may be.

Yeah, but most of the viruses/worms are for much older systems.

The first half had NOTHING to do with this topic. Dozer is still quiet, while Conficker is on the move. You'll only get infected from USB Harddrives (them who are infected)/used internet sticks. Yet MyDoom is an old worm that I was sure when I was reading about it, as it's also a backdoor trojan would seem to help W32.Dozer sneak in.

There isn't just Conficker, there is this W32.Dozer lurking.
possible new topic?

Then I'd have others complaining. I'll only make a topic on W32.Dozer when I hear more about it.

You are such a stiffler[this is not flaming if you don't know what it means well try looking it up] but anyways. try ubuntu with wine. guild wars should be able to run on it. but maybe not since you cant really understand some stuff no offense. you should just  stick with windows.

eeeh, Wine isn't so much of a solution. It's still very much flawed. I don't think I've ever gotten anything to run under it.

Peachy, that made less sense than a kid on a sugar rush. Guild Wars, need a fucking lot to support the graphics. I can't seem to find the link to what it needs to run. Anyway Dozer is still silent, and no new news on Conficker yet.

Well, according to this http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_on_Wine/Ubuntu it's possible to get it running under Ubuntu and Wine.

I haven't heard either, but Guild Wars has a shit load of files, and I mean a fucking lot since my main character has been all over Prophecies, while my Paragon has been nearly all over Nightfall, it adds more to the files to be downloaded. Guild Wars 2 is gonna be just as large (or larger), when it's released in 2011 I think, I heard it was, because Guild Wars 2 has higher and stronger graphics making the game so real, other than Guild Wars 1. It's not like I'd find a Lunix system/other system here in the UK that won't cost an arm and a leg for. Money's tight here in the UK and in the family, so it's not like I can go and buy a brand new PC system, for gaming, which I'd barely use after a while. I just don't have that kind of money. If I did I would of gotten a PC for gaming and a better laptop for music storage/file storage. Only if money grew on trees, things would be so much more eaiser. But Vista runs Guild Wars like it's just another game. My PC (around 7 years old), can't handle the game yet the graphics card is the strongest there is but it can't handle the game without suddenly going into system failure/crashing all together. XP is good for other things but not Guild Wars, Vista on the other hand runs Guild Wars very well. (Minus the bugs and glitches the game has. ¬¬)

I make perfect sense, abb understood what I was talking about. but anyways. most linux distributions are free and ubuntu can run some games like wow pretty well, youll see what I mean if you look on winehq games section. I forgot the link but you should find it by googling winehq. if you cant understand any of the above then its your fault not mine.

Conficker strikes again.

Businesses ignore Conficker at their peril, warns expert

The intentions of the cybercriminals behind the Conficker worm are still unknown, says an industry group set up to combat the malware.

Conficker is state-of-the-art malware that is still showing up on millions of computers around the world, said Rodney Joffe, director of the Conficker Working Group.

Conficker is a perfect platform to carry out attacks if those behind it decide to use it or sell off bits of the botnet to other criminals now that attention has died down, he told ComputerWeekly.

If that happens, Joffe said many organisations are in for a rough ride, including UK enterprises which own a significant number of the country's infected computers.

"Not just regular companies, but also companies involved in critical infrastructure," he said.

IP addresses associated with two UK airports have shown up in the Conficker Working Group's routine scans in recent weeks. Although these infected IP addresses may have been picked up from guest accounts on the wireless networks, the concern is that the infection is still on the network and could infect the airports' IT systems, said Joffe.

"Conficker is far from defeated and organisations cannot afford to ignore it," he said.

The effects could be staggering if Conficker is activated and starts to capture and transmit financial information, warned Joffe.

"Enterprises should not assume that because Conficker has gone quiet that those behind it have walked away and will not use it to do anything malicious," he said.

According to Joffe, Conficker has already been used to spread fake anti-virus software and other malicious software, including Waledec.

"An enterprise that ignores the issues around Conficker risks being liable for whatever may happen because they did not take action even though they knew they were infected," he said.
