I've heard if you get missingno. on yellow in any way it will crash your game. I think it's false because I traded missingno. from my pokemon red to my pokemon yellow and nothing happened. It might be that you can't catch missingno. on pokemon yellow or it will crash, and if you got missingno. from a trade nothing would happen. I need an explanation for this.

People have caught MissingNo.s on Yellows with Masterballs multiple times (though MissingNo. on Yellow has a tendancy to crash the game alot before you can catch it) so no.  You can catch MissingNo./trade it/etc.

About a few months back, I downloaded the Japanese Red version. I decided to see what would exactly happen if you caught all the Pokemon. I wanted to see if you got Mew.You don't, just like our versions you only get a diploma. And I played the game nonstop and did this all in 3 days. My eyes hurt afterwords… -.-

I know how to get mew already, I just wanted to see if the rumors were true.^^ Which of course they weren't.

Well good job doing that all in 3 days! After I beat the game I did it on my Red in about two days, but counting beating the game that is quite something!

I know this is fake, but when I was about 8 or 9 and Red and Blue were becoming popular, I heard this myth after a few months and wasn't sure if it was just in my region or if it spread further. Anyways, the myth was that somewhere in Mewtwo's Dungeon there was an item on the gound that couldn't be found with the Itemfinder called the Mist Stone. When obtaining this Mist Stone you could evolve Venasour, Charizard and Blastoise into Sapasour, Charcolt, and Rainer. I thought it was cute and creative and am just posting it here.

One other myth I heard was on some cartridges, rarely if you started it up you would start in a secret place called Mew's Garden or something and you could catch Mew and every other Pokemon, but once you either turned off or started a new game you couldn't unlock it again.

Just some myths I thought I would post, take care.

I was wondering, why do some people keep saying that "Mew was under the truck"? It's quite obvious it's not ever there. One simply has to Google "Mew trick".

I got told once that if you speak to oak then catch a tangela, put it in your 3rd slot and talk to him, he will give you a ho-oh! and this was Gen 1 games =D I laughed at him, he thought it was true on all seriousness

(of course he diddnt know it was called ho-oh, he just identified it as the big bird near the start of the anime)

I beat Pokemon Red on a ROM in under 10 minutes. With a Gameshark code.

Beat that.


A fake cheat I heard once was a code where Bill's grandfather would suddenly start talking complete and utter gibberish like "msfudshwa?" Then you had to do something involving Elm and you would get Celebi. HAH.

No. However I HAVE heard that one somewhere before on one of the cheat sites full of phony cheats. A similar one I heard would cause you to see your rival in Gold and Misty having sexual intercourse but you would break them up somehow and get Misty to fall in love with you. Then you'd end up marrying her, and then you would knock her up, creating a new Pokemon called Misty's Baby that knew every powerful attack.

I'm not making that one up either. I really read that on another fake cheat site as well.

I once nearly believed a "Cheat" about getting Mewthree and Mewfour.
They say that if I catch Mewtwo and name it Mewthree and show it to Bill, he will give me a Mewthree that looks like a shiny Mewtwo. Then same goes for Mew.

This is for Leaf Green.

Oh, and a question from me:  Is there any way to summon an EGG or Bad Egg in battle?
