They're actually CATS! (I found this out on a couple of sites)
Entei: Lion
Raikou: Tiger (Duh!)
Suicune: Panther (Looks more like a dog, though)

I know, but since everone calls them dogs, I decided to end everyone calling me an idiot, but it looks like that will never end…
I mean, it's easy to tell. Just look at their feet! No dog would have feet like that!!
