I think I've done something like this before. There are codes that edit each stat of the individual Pokémon including movepool and species (where the color is retained from the original). My guess is that he got the part of the code that edited the Pokémon species to Growlithe from a Bulbasaur. I might have saved the document from my old computer, which will be uploaded if I can find it.

EDIT: Found and attaching document. Can't remember original author.

I see.  Nothing impressive really, just changing the sprite without changing the palette.

Actually, it's a single-line code: 0999d8cf

As you can see, the code is entirely different from usual codes (09 rather than 01, for example)

When I tested the code, I encountered a brown Bulbasaur with Growlithe's cry and the name Growlithe, as well as normal Growlithes (this is when I used a Growlithe encounter code with this one). So your code is just the same as mine, just coded differently.

When I used your code standalone, however, nothing really seemed to happen. But having 09 instead of 01 in the coding is something unusual for me still. On a side note, replacing 09 with 01 in your code is the normal Pokémon encounter code set to Bulbasaur's hex identifier.

I can't seem to get the code to work on Visual Boy Advance, which is what I use, but my partner did so with BGB. Not sure what that implies, or if I just couldn't get the setting right.

I finally did manage to get it working, as you can see here:

Replace 09 with 80 and it should work.

I did some little discoveries regarding bad clones/the level 0 bad clones in pokémon Crystal. I hope they'll will help!

If your bad clone is making your box unacessible, you can enter in a wild battle, use your bike or a TM outside battle to fix this. I think it's because it uses data of the last action you did or something to put as his name. If you didn't do anything or spoke with someone as the last action you did before seeing it, the name will be a bunch of garbage, which causes freezing or the need to press A for a long time.

Regarding the lv.0 clone (the one used for celebi glitch), maybe his IVs all turn 0 or at least change from the original. The proof for that is that I cloned my red gyarados, and in return I received a level 0, blue one.

Hey Guys found some weid stuff while Sharking my ROM.
Players Name is Hao.

1. catch Missingno. at lvl3 - Apperantly it knows some sort of the superglitch move
2. go via WTW into the Diglettcave- battel startet. Wild Diglett apeared
3. use the Glitchmove
4. Both are frozen, than Asleep. Managed to wake my pokemon up.
5. Missingno. turns into lvl 157 Mankey which uses Radge… Animation of Waterfall and besides the damage it creates a decoy.
6. Continue to use this. Dont let me make any selection.
7. Lock up

What the Hax?

Edit: Seems to be the Cooltrainermove. But why is he so unexpectable?

(In the Pic below stands Hao is using Rage… its a German ROM)

Jesus Christ, how horrifying.

When I was doing the Save Abuse glitch, I managed to replace the Save option with RESET, which did exactly what you'd expect.

This effect is similar to a trick that can be performed after acquiring Ditto's CoolTrainer move. (Transform into a Pokémon with more than one move, then switch any move past the first move with first)

In Red/Blue, if you keep scrolling/entering and exiting the FIGHT menu until the name of the type glitches up, the music will stop and the enemy Pokémon's name will change and become burned when you close the menu.

After viewing the stat screen, its sprite apparently becomes Arcanine, but if you capture it, it is a Level 127 Missingno.

Index number: Missingno. (32h, dec: 50)
HP: 6946
Status: 30h (Freeze/Burn)

The game will freeze after the battle in most places, an exception being Diglett's Cave.

For unknown reasons(?), you can also get a Level 127 Horsea. At first I thought it may have been because Diglett used Dig, but after trying it myself, it doesn't always happen when a Pokémon is under the Dig stage.

You can't do this glitch in Pokémon Yellow because the game won't let you swap moves in battle after Transform. (hitting select does nothing and brings you back to the first move). But maybe you can if you trade a Ditto with the CoolTrainer move.

The effect is also similar to the 'Wild Appeared' trick. You can get it to happen legitimately with the save abuse bug. In English versions, swapping the third Pokémon with the 36th (thx Vaeporsage) and closing the menu causes the "PA: Ding-dong! You are out of SAFARI BALLs!" message to pop up. This allows you to warp to the Safari Zone gate.

You can then toss the quantity item 36 ('last door' byte) to warp anywhere you want (e.g. 5 left = Vermillion City) and avoid Professor Oak's "It's not safe to get out message".

Alternatively you can just locate a ????? in your bag after swapping the 2nd Pokémon with the 10th and use it to Surf south of Pallet Town.

Now, in Red/Blue when you capture a Pokémon affected by 'Wild appeared' you get a Golem, which after you view a Pokémon's summary and exit with B, appears as a Magmar.

In Yellow, it actually is a Magmar.

In one of the versions, I was able to change either the Golem or Magmar (I'm not sure which one it was) to Missingno. by depositing lots of Pokémon. If you deposit too many Pokémon via PC, you can fix the wild appeared glitch as your Pokémon no longer affect the enemy's name.

You get a L127 Horsea if you do the same thing twice without leaving the cave. It doesn't work on certain emulators though.

What emulator did you use? I tried VBA-RR v24 svn422 (which probably has errors) and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. i.e. at times I'd get another level 127 Missingno. after already catching one without leaving the cave.

Edit: For some reason if you mess up the graphics on your side after sending any Missingno. or 'M into battle it seems you always get the Level 127 Horsea. It's nothing to do with Dig.

I have to use v24 too as v21 is too stable to even initiate super glitch. (and I forget why I stopped using v24)
The messing up graphics OR sending out glitches. Which one causes the Pokemon change?

Btw do you have RR v21? The disassembler always crashes the emulator when I click search.

Probably the messed up graphics. Actually all you have to do is view the glitch Pokémon's stats from the PkMn menu and exit, then when you swap moves to get the CoolTrainer move after Transform, you can switch to any Pokémon that doesn't mess up the graphics and switch back to the Transformer to get the Level 127 Horsea when you glitch up the enemy.

Also, if you exit the battle and enter again with the player's sprites still messed up, you can get Horsea without having to view or send out the glitch Pokémon.

Do you mean the one from here? I'm not sure what you mean. Clicking 'Next' on the disassembler causes it to pause, but you can unfreeze it by clicking inside the window.

1. Start any ROM in VBA21.exe
2. Open the Disassemble window
3. Enter valid value in the text box and click Go
4. Wait 1 second
5. ?????
6. PROFIT

5. The whole emulator crashes :( (A window pops up saying the program has stopped working)

Weird. It works for me, though you can't click in the 'Go' button again after you've already done one search and you have to close the disassembler and open it again. Maybe it's your operating system? (I'm using Windows 7)

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. I'll try to redownload the emulator when I have time.
