For Xbox, I have the Sonic Game Collection. But I was pissed that the Sonic the Hedgehog, the original one was for Sega Master System, was on GG (Game Gear), and I don't know if the ending on GG was the original, since back then I never did get the chance to beat the game. And I'm talking like a long time ago when I was 3.

Actually the game gear was actually meant to be a hand held Master System so yes they are the same. (Minus the screen size difference of course.)

Silent Hill Complete Soundtrack - Track 05 - Discipline - Yamaoka Akira


Due to screen limitations the Game gear version is deemed one of the most difficult Sonic games of all time.

However, Sonic Gems Collection thankfully has a sort of built-in Save State Feature making the game easier by abusing save States. (Although it constitutes as cheating in some ways the Game Gear Version of Sonic 2 deserves to be cheated in without mercy. XD)

A little side Note: The Japanese version of Sonic Gems Collection had all three Streets of Rage Games (or as the series is called in Japan, Bare Knuckle) as unlockable games in addition to both Vectorman games. I don't think Vectorman 2 ever got a release outside of America when on the Mega Drive despite how well the first game went. Oh well with the Release of Gems Collection European and Japanese players alike can enjoy it.
