I'm going to try it once I get a bad clone. I was always getting them before, but when I want one…

Ok, here is the description of the Celebi trick for G/S/C. It is different thant the one Paco posted on the first page (which only works on Crystal), but it is still inspired by the video Paco made for G/S, so he should get the credit. As far as I know, this trick works with all 3 versions of the game.

1. Get a Sneasel that knows Beat Up as its third move. Sneasel learns Beat Up at level 57.

2. Get 4 Sneasel good clones.

4. Get a bad clone.

5. Put Sneasel a the top of your party, followed by the 4 good clones and the bad clone.

6. Go to the Daycare and ask the man (or the woman) to raise your bad clone. Then, take it back.

7. Put the bad clone at the top of your party.

8. Go to the PC and enter Bill's PC. Chose "Move PKMN w/o mail", and move any Pok?mon from a PC box to the top of your party. For example, move a Rattata. Do NOT use a rare or legendary Pok?mon, because you will lose it.

9. Turn off the PC and go back to the Daycare man. Ask him to raise the bad clone, which should now be the second in your party. This time, do NOT take it back yet, and go back to the PC.

10. Deposit Rattata and the 4 good clones, and turn of the PC.

11. Go back to the Daycare man and take back the bad clone. Then, ask the man to raise your Sneasel. At this point however, Sneasel's name will probably have changed to SEL.

12. Take back Sneasel from the Daycare, and it should now be a Celebi. However, this Celebi will not appear in your Pok?dex and might be at a very high level. To correct this, you will need to use the egg trick that I described on page 10 or 11.

13. If you look at the PC box where you deposited Rattata and the 4 good clones, you will notice that the third and fourth clones' stats have changed species (but you should still see the Sneasel sprite). When you withdraw these clones and put them in the Daycare, they will transform. For some reason, in Crystal, if you look at the stats of the second clone in the PC box, the game might freeze and glitch.

—–

We can adapt this trick to get any other Pok?mon, as long as we know the equivalent move (HEX value).

Just before the 10th step of the trick, the party is:

-Rattata
-Sneasel clone 1
-Sneasel clone 2
-Sneasel clone 3
-Sneasel clone 4
-Sneasel

Then, after the 10th step, these Pok?mon will have changed:

-Rattata will become a glitch Pok?mon
-Sneasel clone 1 will stay a Sneasel
-Sneasel clone 2 will become a glitch Pok?mon
-Sneasel clone 3 will become the Pok?mon equivalent to Sneasel's first attack
-Sneasel clone 4 will become the Pok?mon equivalent to Sneasel's second attack
-Sneasel will become the Pok?mon equivalent to Sneasel's third attack

Remember that Sneasel and the clones will be completely transformed only after being with the Daycare man or woman.

—–

I hope this is clear and simple enough for everyone… I might post it in french later on, if anyone thinks it would be more helpful.

You have to keep cloning until you get a bad clone either with no name, ?, or  more question marks than this ?????????.

1) There is a list of all the HEX values on the main Glitch City Labs website. Click on "Comprehensive BIG LIST" in the left menu.

2) I only know of one way to get bad clones, but it rarely works on the first try:
    - Deposit a Pok?mon in a PC box
    - Turn off the PC
    - Open the "start menu" (i.e., press "Start")
    - Chose "Save"
    - Turn off the Game Boy about a second after "Don't turn off the power." appears
    - Try again…

You will know that it worked if in your PC box, you have a level 0 clone of the Pok?mon you deposited. In G/S, it's name will appear blank in the PC box. In Crystal, the name will be a bunch of question marks. It may happen that you get a blank-named clone that isn't really a bad clone, because it isn't at level 0.

Apparently, the bad clone trick only works in a PC box that was never completely filled, and it won't work with certain Pok?mon (e.g., legendaries). I have been successful with Meowth, Onix, Magikarp, Hoothoot and Sneasel, if ever that may help you.

I got everything to work, except sneasel's name didn't change, and he didn't turn into Celebi. Also, is there a way to get rid of those MissingNo type things with a changing icon?

This is a really nce glitch. But wait, are bad clones REALLY rare ? When EXACTLY do you turn it off?
Anyway great glitch, one of the coolest yet. Is this on the site?

Bad clones are not that rare, but it may take time to get them. I don't know the exact timing for the reset, but it might depend on which Pok?mon you are cloning. I would say maybe a bit more than a second after "Don't turn off the power". Remember that this is when you save from the Start menu, and NOT while changing boxes…

And yes, it is possible to get rid of a glitch Pok?mon. There is more than one way, but the most simple one I found is this:

1. Put the glitch Pok?mon in the 6th position of the party.

2. Turn on Bill's PC.

3. Move any worthless Pok?mon to the top of the party.

4. Go to the Daycare man or woman, and ask them to raise a Pok?mon that isn't the first or the last one in the party.

5. Go to Bill's PC and release the first Pok?mon of your party.

6. Get back the Pok?mon from the Daycare.

I know this works when there is one glitch Pok?mon in the party, but I am not 100% sure about when there is more than one… Also, this might glitch up your Pok?dex, but not always. By Pok?dex glitch, I mean that you may lose some entries, get new ones, and the seen/owned numbers will be random. I don't know how to avoid this glitch…

Eh, so your team is like this?

Real Sneasel
Cloned Sneasel
Cloned Sneasel
Cloned Sneasel
Cloned Sneasel
Bad Clone of Sneasel

Soon you switch places of "Real Sneasel" and "Bad Clone of Sneasel"? How do you put Rattata on full team? Or if you should have only total 5 Sneasels at start? And after putting Bad Clone on day Care, how do you deposit Rattata AND 4 Cloned Sneasels? That would be your whole party because you put that 6th one, the bad clone, on DC.

Or is there something important that I missread?

FYI, the 4 monsters don't have to be clones of each other… they just have to contain the moves you need to cause them to transform into what you want.

Soon you switch places of "Real Sneasel" and "Bad Clone of Sneasel"?

As far as that example goes, yes. That statement is correct.

How do you put Rattata on full team?

By putting "bad clone" into daycare and taking it out, it changes into 000. That glitch has the power to cloak the other members of your party, when placed at the top. Because of this, the PC box will not recognize your team as having any members… so you will be able to add members beyond 6.
